U.S. Postal Service Unveils Year of the Horse Forever Stamp
The U.S. Postal Service has issued the Year of the Horse Forever stamp to celebrate the Lunar New Year. A horse can be seen in the upper left hand corner of the stamp. USPS says it wanted to focus on elements used in celebrating the Lunar New Year, such as the drum. Last year's Year of the Snake Forever stamp featured fireworks.
U.S. Postal Service San Francisco District Manager David Stowe dedicated the stamp at the Chinese Culture Center inside the Hilton San Francisco Financial District Hotel. Stowe said in the announcement, "The start of the Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday of the year for much of the world's population. It's a time of great celebration and reflection for millions of Americans, including the Chinese-American community right here in San Francisco."
