Twitter and American Express Partner to Sell Products on Twitter

Twitter and American Express has announced a partnership to enable American Express cardholders to buy products on twitter using special #hashtags. The companies will be testing the service with products from Amazon, Sony, Urban Zen and Xbox 360.

A $25 American Express Gift Card is being offering for purchase (with a synced American Express Card) for $15 by tweeting #BuyAmexGiftCard25. The offer ends on 3-3-13.

A downside to the service is privacy - people could see your tweets and know what you are buying. It may also not be that much faster than just going to an online store and placing an order yourself.
