TSA Confiscates Tiny Gun From Sock Monkey

TSA confiscated a tiny gun from a sock monkey puppet. The sock monkey was disarmed by airport security in St. Louis. The sock monkey was made by sock monkey designer Phyllis May. The sock monkey was designed to look like Rooster Cogburn from the film True Grit.

The TSA issued the following statement regarding the incident:

TSA officers are dedicated to keeping the nation's transportation security systems safe and secure for the traveling public. Under longstanding aircraft security policy, and out of an abundance of caution, realistic replicas of firearms are prohibited in carry-on bags

This is not the first time tiny replica guns have been taken from travelers. CNN's Jeanne Moos advises not letting your sock monkey carry if you are taking it on a plane. Take a look:
