The New York Botanical Garden Opens Groundbreakers Exhibition
The New York Botanical Garden has opened its Groundbreakers Exhibition. The exhibit explores the contributions of American women who emerged as influential professionals in the field. The exhibit, Groundbreakers: Great American Gardens and The Women Who Designed Them, is open now through September 7, 2014. You can view some photos of the beautiful gardens here on nybg.org.
The exhibit includes "Mrs. Rockefeller's Garden," a horticultural exhibition within the Seasonal Galleries of the New York City Landmark Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. It also includes a historical exhibition in the LuEsther T. Mertz Library's Rondina and LoFaro Gallery, which features a collection of vintage photographs, photo equipment, photo-illustrated books, and a simulated "Magic Lantern" slide show. This exhibit is called "Gardens for a Beautiful America: The Women Who Photographed Them." Other exhibits include the "The Edna St. Vincent Millay Poetry Walk" and "Groundbreaking Women in Science."
