There are reports that actress Teri Hatcher has the swine flu and that Wisteria Lane is now on H1N1 alert. The Village Voicesays Teri Hatcher told Desperate Housewives coworkers she was diagnosed with the H1N1. Of course, there are denials as the latest publicity strategy seems to be say it is flu but not swine flu. Radar reports that a Desperate Housewives insider denies the reports telling them it is just the "regular flu." A source closed to the show told Radar, "She has the flu, but it's not swine. It's not disrupting shooting on the show."
Since we are well ahead of the regular swine flu season the H1N1 swine flu strain is primarily the only flu that's going around. If she has flu it is highly likely to be swine flu. Studios issuing swine flu denials is just ridiculous.
Conan O'Brien was back at work Monday and he showed the footage from the accident where he sustained a concussion. Conan was in a foot race with Teri Hatcher when he slipped and fell backwards and hit his head. Someone made the floor way too slippery. Conan O'Brien explained that there were also things that happened shortly after the incident that he does not remember. Fortunately, he appears to be okay now. Take a look:
Conan O'Brien Suffers Concussion, Expected Back at Work Monday
Teri Hatcher toldEntertainment Tonight that Conan O'Brien sustained a concussion during a taping of the Tonight Show on Friday. Teri was racing Conan for a segement of the show. At the end of the race Conan slipped and hit his head. He was checked into the hospital to make sure his concussion to not turn into something serious.
"We did this bit and at the very end, when we ran in to cross the finish line, he slipped as he was crossing the finish line and hit his head," Teri says. "And the thing was, I was in front of him so I didn't see it initially.
"He didn't get off floor right a way, but then he [seemed] like he recovered and [pulled] it together, and they did an instant replay, and you could really see his head hit the floor." She continues, "He did go to the hospital and he does have a concussion."
Teri adds that she hears Conan is fine and just needs to rest.
"I was just a wreck," she says, contuining, "like we had a great day and it couldn't have been better -- and then that was the ending to it, and it was awful; you don't want to see anyone get hurt."
Friday's episode was canceled but NBC says Conan O'Brien is expected back at work on Monday.
For the upfront presentations ABC created two very funny videos featuring stars from their hit shows. In the first clip, Matthew Fox from Lost and Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives share a moment in the kitchen. Take a look:
In the second video, all the ABC stars are living in a house together in a new reality show. Jorge Garcia from Lost dances with a rake outside while Bruno and Carrie Ann from Dancing With the Stars score him from the balcony. Sally Field welcomes the Bachelorette contestants and Robe Lowe has had it with Ty Pennington's megaphone. Take a look:
Teri Hatcher has won her lawsuit against Hydroderm, the skin care company. The company had sued Teri claiming she had endorsed a rival skincare company. Teri denied the allegations.
Skin care company Hydroderm has apologized to Teri Hatcher and has retracted allegations that the Desperate Housewives star endorsed a rival product.
"Teri Hatcher is a woman of the highest integrity. We sincerely apologize for the adverse publicity resulting from our lawsuit," says Hydroderm spokesperson Joshua McCleary.
Hatcher also received an undisclosed amount of money.
Last year, Hydroderm alleged in a $2.8 million lawsuit that Hatcher had entered into an "exclusive endorsement deal" in 2005, only to sing the praises of City Cosmetics. The actress responded that she had "done absolutely nothing wrong" and vowed to aggressively fight the lawsuit, which went into arbitration.
A statement released Friday said, "Hydroderm LLC has specifically retracted all accusations made against Teri Hatcher including that she endorsed any competing products."
That must have been quite an arbitration. Hydroderm lost bigtime. And they still had to pay their own attorneys' fees.
Last night on American Idol Gives Back quite a few celebrities showed up to help raise money for charity. All the presidential candidates made an appearance, but they were all cut at the last minute. That's showbiz! Actually, the candidates' clips will appear on tonight's show. Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives had a some fun: she appeared in a skit with co-star James Denton and songstress Carrie Underwood which ended with Teri singing live for the Idol audience with Band From TV.
Band From TV Band From TV is made up of Greg Grunberg on drums (Heroes, Alias), Hugh Laurie on keyboards (House), Teri Hatcher on vocals (Desperate Housewives), James Denton on guitar (Desperate Housewives), Bob Guiney on vocals (The Bachelor), Bonnie Somerville on vocals (Cashmere Mafia), Jesse Spencer on violin (House). Teri Hatcher will appear as the new face for Badgley Mischka for Fall 2007. Ellen Von Unwerth shot the gorgeous photographs of Teri.
Teri commented on her new gig: "Working with Mark and James has been a wonderful experience, there is such great synergy between us. They were the first designers to dress me for my first ever red carpet event. They empower women through amazing clothes. I like the idea of women finding great pieces of clothing and accessories to make themselves feel good. The shoot was relaxed and fun, it felt great to be styled by the actual designers."
Fab designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka continued the lovefest saying: "Teri represents the Badgley Mischka woman. Not only is she an amazing actress and established author, but she is also a dedicated mother. Teri can wear Badgley Mischka to a red carpet event or she can put on a piece from our sportswear and handbag collection to run an errand. We are excited to bring glamour and old Hollywood style to women across the world with our new collections, and are ecstatic to be partnering with such a beautiful and amazing talent on the campaign."
Badgley and Mischka have expanded their famous couture line to include a number of new design areas for them, such as sportswear, handbags, eyewear, shoes, jewelry, lingerie (modeled by Teri, above), swimwear, fur, fragrance, bridal and bridesmaids.
Teri is an excellent choice -- those dancer's legs are perfect for showing off the lingerie line.
Teri Hatcher, of ABC's Desperate Housewives, is one of many celebrities who have customized a tote bag designed by Cynthia Rowley as part of the Quilted Northern bath tissue Fashionable to Care program. Teri Hatcher used rhinestones to make her tote sparkle (pictured on the right). Teri's tote bag and totes by Courteney Cox-Arquette and The Bachelorette's Jen Schefft and other celebrities will be auctioned off online in May, with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Quilted Northern also has an Ultra Care Tote Bag designed by Cynthia Rowley that costs $15 with the purchase of any Quilted Northern product. Purchases of this tote also go towards the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Desperate Housewives Bring Back 50's Bathing Suits
The May issue of Vanity Fair features Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Nicolette Sheridan and Felicity Huffman lounging poolside in retro bathing suits that look like something Marilyn Monroe might have worn on a photo shoot. According to the Associated Press, the photo shoot was a nightmare, complete with catfights.
"Whatever you do," the ABC rep, who wasn't identified by name, said when he arrived on the set, "do not let Teri go to wardrobe first."
Despite the rep's plea, Hatcher was the first "housewife" to visit wardrobe, and she had consulted with the stylist days in advance. At one point, the rep proclaimed: "This is a problem. I'm getting text messages from Eva (Longoria). Everything is not fine."
The struggles continued once the photographer started snapping. Redhead Marcia Cross turned red-hot when she saw Hatcher standing next to her in the center of the shot, according to the article. Cross grabbed her bathrobe and stormed off, spewing expletives at the ABC rep.
Whether the stars really can't stand each other or the fights are staged for publicity purposes, we have to say that the retro bathings suits are very cute. But those boy-cut legs are hard to wear. A v-cut is more flattering to the leg line. Not that former dancer Teri Hatcher needs any help making her legs look great. It's no wonder her co-stars are grumpy; she steals the cover.
