Video: Italian Eyewear Exhibit Opens at Grand Central Terminal in New York
New York City's Grand Central Terminal has an exhibit of the past, present and future of eyewear which runs through March 24th. It also includes glasses from celebrities such as Elton John and Jennifer Lopez. Elton's glasses look like giant lips. The exhibit is hosted by the Italian Trade Commission-ICE and the Italian Optical Goods Manufacturers' Association-ANFAO, so naturally celebrities who wear Italian sunglasses such as Diddy and Victoria Beckham. The show examples of eyewear dating back to the 13th Century, and was designed by renowned Italian architect Georgio Borruso. Take a look:
Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses Will Arrive in May
WWD has more details about the new sunglasses collaboration between Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana. The MDG brand of sunglasses will arrive in stores in May. The prices will range from $248 to $289. WWD says Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana sent about 50 sketches of sunglasses to Madonna and Madonna edited and tweaked the designs.
The still images reported earlier are part of a Madonna campaign for the new sunglasses line. Madonna also wears clothing from Dolche & Gabbana's spring 2010 collection in the MDG campaign.
Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana Partner for MDG Sunglasses
Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana have collaborated on a sunglasses line called MDG.
More details about the MDG sunglasses line and the campaign shot by Steven Klein are expected soon. The sunglasses are likely to become a hot item. Madonna was also the face of Dolce & Gabbana spring 2010 campaign, which was also shot by fashion photographer Steven Klein. You can see some photos from that campaign here.
TAG Heuer Eyewear Launches the Maria Sharapova Sunglass Collection
Tennis champ Maria Sharapova has partnered with Tag Heuer for a sunglasses line. The sunglasses come in two styles, an aviator style and a larger round, oversized style. Each pair offers 100% UV-A and UV-B protection and has Sharapova's signature etched onto the lenses. The sunglasses are available in black with gray or gradated lenses, or in three other color combinations: an ivory frame with blue lenses, tortoiseshell with brown lenses and dark plum with pink lenses. The sunglasses will go on sale later this month at TAG Heuer eyewear retailers. They will retail for $250 each.

Rihanna Wears Carrera Sunglasses in Rude Boy Music Video
Rihanna is wearing Carrera Endurance shades in her recently launched music video for Rude Boy. The Endurance model is part of Carrera's recently relaunched "vintage collection." Rihanna wears them throughout her performance.
Juicy Couture is selling these heart-shaped sunglasses. The glasses have pink plastic frames, heart-shaped, gradient lenses and contrasting earpieces. They offer 100% UV protection. They can be purchased here for $98.

Ray-Ban has launched its Craft Genuine Leather collection. The collection includes the Craft Outdoorsman ($216) and Caravan Leather ($171) sunglasses. THe sunglasses are detailed with genuine deer leather accents and made in Italy. The sunglasses also feature Ray-Ban's Crystal lenses. Both of the glasses come in matching deer leather cases. Oakley Designs Sunglasses to Benefit Autism Charity
WWDreports that Oakley has designed special edition eyewear to benefit Talk About Curing Autism (TACA), an organization that supports and educates families living with autism. Oakly will donate $20 to TACA with each sale of these special edition sunglasses. The TACA Oakley Fuel Cell and TACA Oakley Ravishing eyewear sunglasses contain a puzzle motif to indicate that the autism puzzle will one day be solved. The sunglasses will sold on Oakley's website and in specialty stores.
Dolce & Gabbana Launches Gold Edition Sunglasses Line
Dolce & Gabbana has launched its Gold Edition line of sunglasses and prescription glasses. The glasses contain 18-carat gold-plated metal with the Dolce & Gabbana logo engraved on the temple ends. The glasses come packaged in a jewelry box featuring a plaque that reads, "Dolce & Gabbana Gold Edition." JustLuxe.com says D&G's Gold Edition glasses can be purchased at Ilori boutiques for $580.
