Sarah Jessica Parker's Fruity SJP NYC Fragrance Arrives in Stores
Sarah Jessica Parker's new fragrance, SJP NYC, has arrived in Macy's stores. Now Smell This says the new fragrance is meant to reflect Carrie Bradshaw from the Sex and the City franchise. It is also meant to tie-in with the upcoming film, SATC 2. The fragrance is a fruity floral built around a wild strawberry accord. It can be purchased here on Macys.com. The video below from Seventeen has no sound but it does contain footage from the filming of Sarah Jessica Parker's campaign for SJP NYC. Take a look:
Sarah Jessica Parker covers the December issue of Elle magazine. She looks great in the Jean Paul Gaultier jacket, louse and pencil skirt in the photo below. In the interview, she talks about the SATC sequel, using a surrogate and being a mom.
On rumored friction with Kim Cattrall: "I don't think anybody wants to believe that I love Kim. I adore her. I wouldn't have done the movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn't."
On being a hands-on mom: "I love the smell of diapers; I even like when they're wet and you smell them all warm liked a baked good. I love the smell of Balmex. Love it."
On her decision to use a surrogate to carry her twins: "I knew there would be lots of opinions about, 'Well, why didn’t you adopt? Why didn't you do this? Why didn't you do that?' and the truth of the matter is, it wasn't one or the other for us. We had explored, and continue to explore all options, and this one just happened first. This isn't the period at the end of the sentence."

Sarah Jessica Parker to Launch New Sex and the City Fragrance, SJP NYC
WWD reports
that Sarah Jessica Parker is launching a new fragrance which will be tied in to her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw.
Originally a code name for the scent, the SJP NYC moniker stuck, in part due to the fragrance’s inspiration.
"A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people's impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them -- a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion," Parker told WWD. "We started with this idea that we wanted to create something fun. We wanted to create a party in a bottle and reflect that in the packaging with a real sense of whimsy, fun and joie de vivre. And then we took it from there. Portability and fashion played key roles in the development of the packaging and overall concept."
The scent, a fruity floral by Parker and Firmenich's Honorine Blanc, has top notes of Italian mandarin, white osmanthus and wild red strawberries; a heart of gardenia, honeysuckle, mimosa and red rose damascenia, and a drydown of sandalwood, vanilla absolute, rum flavor and creamy musks.
Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely is still in the top 50 fragrances sold in the U.S., although Covet, the scent launched in 2007 won't be distributed in the U.S. before long as it didn't sell as well. Sarah Jessica said that the scent has a surprising top note of strawberry which at first she was wary of, but came to love when she saw how well it worked with the floral notes of the fragrance.
Coty is working to coordinate appearances and promotions for the new fragrance with the marketing push for the next Sex and the City movie.
