The Hollywood Reportersays for Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is pitching a tv show to networks with the working title, Sarah Palin's Alaska. The documentary reality series would involve Sarah Palin giving a tour of Alaska. Both A&E Networks and Discovery are said to be interested but not necessarily at Sarah Palin's steep asking price of $1 million to $1.5 million an episode.
A&E Networks hasn't officially put in a bid for the project, but the company apparently is interested in the project for several of its brands: A&E, History or Lifetime.
Discovery likewise is vying for the project for one or more of its outlets, including TLC. Palin is asking for $1 million-$1.5 million per episode, a hefty amount for a first-year cable series.
Sarah Palin's Alaska documentary could be unintentionally amusing and weird if there are any scenes like the 2008 incident when Sarah Palin held a news conference in front of a turkey slaughterhouse.
Bristol Palin to Guest Star on Secret Life of the American Teenager
Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol Palin is going to be appearing on the show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Bristol will appear on an episode focused on teenage pregnancy and teen motherhood. Bristol Palin will play herself.
The show's executive producer Brenda Hampton said, "Bristol Palin is the most famous teenage mother in America. We're thrilled to have her join us, and I think she will bring additional attention to the issues facing teen parents that we've been exploring for a couple of seasons now."
Bristol Palin said, "I am thrilled to be on this show and to be a part of a program that educates teens and young adults about the consequences of teen pregnancy."
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin slammed the Family Guy producers and "Fox Hollywood" for creating a Down's syndrome character that referenced her son Trig. Sarah Palin took to her Facebook to post a message called "Fox Hollywood – What a Disappointment." Sarah Palin quoted her daughter Bristol in her Facebook entry. Bristol said, "If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they’re heartless jerks."
Sarah Palin stunned Oprah Winfrey today by appearing with a totally different hairdo. Sarah opted for some corkscrew curls, the likes of which have not been seen since Nellie Oleson wreaked havoc on Laura Ingalls' life in Little House on the Prairie.
"Look at your hair!" Oprah blurted out, before finishing her introduction.
"What did you do to your hair?" the normally unflappable Oprah finally asked.
"Do you like it?," Palin replied. "I tried to look like you."
"Yes, I'm not used to you having that many curls," said Oprah. "It's kind of cute, but I was just surprised to see you pop up there with the curls. Great. What's the weather like in Wasilla today?
It is not a very flattering new look. For one thing, it makes her look older.
Sarah Palin talked to Oprah about her new job as a Fox commentator. She told Oprah she is going try to to return journalism back to what it is supposed to be. Sarah Palin said, "When I studied journalism, we learned all about the who, what, when, where and why of reporting. Just stating the facts. "I'll engage in that, kind of ratcheting back down to the simplicity of what journalism should be about: just the basics and letting the people decide what their opinion will be."
Sarah Palin also said she is keeping to the door open on her political future. She said, "I'm not closing any door that maybe I find open in the future. And, thankfully, the Fox Network has allowed me to keep that door open. Maybe [politics] is in my future, but in the meantime [I] just really look forward to being a part of the news cycle again."
CNN reports that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be joining Fox News as a contributor. CNN says there are no current plans for Sarah Palin to host her own show on Fox. CNN also says Sarah Palin is still considered to be a potential 2012 White House contender.
USA Todaysays Sarah Palin's deal with Fox News is a mult-year deal.
Yet another controversy has arisen over former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's clothing. This time it's her choice of headgear. She is on vacation in Hawaii and was photographed wearing a John McCain campaign visor which had been defaced with a black marker. The marker was used to cross out McCain's name, which somehow just made it more noticeable. Because of all the bad feelings between Palin and the McCain campaign staff (as detailed in Palin's book) many took the visor to be a nasty snipe at McCain. But she says that's not true, she was just trying to go incognito. Take a look:
Sarah issued a statement to Politico which said: "I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."
She should have picked up a new visor in the hotel gift shop. Problem solved!
Sarah Palin and William Shatner Both Appear on Conan
William Shatner read a passage from Sarah Palin's autobiography, Going Rogue, in his own unique style on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. After he was done reading, Sarah Palin made a surprise appearance and read passages from William Shatner's autobiography, Up Till Now. William Shatner seemed shocked to see Sarah Palin there. Take a look:
Robin Williams appeared on The David Letterman Show last night to promote his new movie Old Dogs with John Travolta. Robin gave his thoughts on Sarah Palin, John Travolta and told a very funny Bono story. Take a look:
Crowd Gets Angry When Sarah Palin Stops Signing Books
Now here's something we've never seen at a booksigning: a huge, angry crowd chanting "Sign Our Books!!" At a signing event in Noblesville, Indiana on November 19, 1000 people were handed wristbands to ensure they would get Sarah Palin's new book Going Rogue personally autographed. But Sarah quit signing early, leaving 300 families that reportedly spent six+ hours waiting in line first to get the wristbands and then to get their books signed. When she stopped signing, they crowded around her bus and kept chanting. It's all pretty bizarre. Take a look:
People reports
that Levi Johnston did not go the full Monty for his Playgirl spread, after all.
Contrary to earlier teases that the 19-year would leave nothing to the imagination in his Playgirl photo shoot, "He did not give 'full frontal' as his manager Tank [Jones] reported he would," Daniel Nardicio, a spokesman for Playgirl, tells New York's Daily News. The pictorial spread was shot last week.
Still, said Nardicio, "We're thrilled with the photos we got, and are confident people will love them, but although there may be glimpses, we did not get full on frontal nudity."
For the record, Palin told Oprah Winfrey Monday that she considers Playgirl to be "porn." She added, "It's kind of heartbreaking to see the road he is on right now."
We think this was a wise decision on Levi's part. Posing naked in Playgirl isn't going to help his career (he says he wants to act) and he has a baby boy to support now. So what made him come to his senses? Last minute attack of modesty? A call from Bristol? Whatever it was, it was a good thing. Now, he needs to go to acting school and get focused on his career. And it's probably time to stop talking about his almost in-law, as well.
Hillary Clinton: Of Course I'd Have Coffee With Sarah Palin
In her new book Sarah Palin says that she would love to sit down and have coffee with Hillary Clinton. She says that she knows they would disagree on most issues, but that she really admires all of Hilary's hard work during the presidential campaign. Naturally David Gregory had to surprise Secretary Clinton with a question about Sarah's book. But Hillary is pretty tough to surprise and gave a very gracious answer. She said that absolutely she'd like to have coffee with Sarah Palin, and that she was sure it would be very interesting. Take a look:
Oprah Winfrey took to Youtube right after the Sarah Palin interview, which will air Monday. Oprah said that they talked about everything. "We talked about inside the campaign, about what it felt like when she was first asked to be Vice-President, the candidate....We talked about Bristol, the pregnancy. We talked about Trig, her baby. We talked about Levi Johnston. We talked about her marriage. We talked about everything. There's nothing that we didn't talk about." Take a look:
Sarah Palin posted on her Facebook page that she enjoyed the interview, saying "Willow, Piper, and I are in Chicago and just wanted to let you know that I had a great conversation with Oprah today. We taped the show for Monday, November 16th, and enjoyed it so much that we went way over on time. The rest will air on Oprah.com. Oprah was very hospitable and gracious, and her audience was full of warm, energized and (no doubt) curious viewers."
So the question on our minds now is this: Will Levi be joining Sarah and the rest of the Palin family for Thanksgiving dinner? And, if so, can there please be a camera crew there?
Video: Sneak Peek at Sarah Palin on the Oprah Winfrey Show
Here are some brief clips from the Sarah Palin/Oprah Winfrey interview which will air on Monday. Oprah asks Sarah if Levi Johnston is invited to Thanksgiving dinner and also inquires about the infamous Katie Couric interview. After Sarah gives a diplomatic answer about Levi that goes on and on, Oprah says "So, is he invited or not?" It's pretty funny and it looks like a good interview.Take a look:
Levi Johnston: Sarah Palin Calls Down's Syndrome Son Retarded
Levi Johnston was on the CBS' Early Show this morning. He revealed some new unflattering information about former Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Johnston says Sarah Palin repeatedely jokingly referred to Trig as her "retarded baby." He also says the Palins would fight in front of their kids about divorce. Levi also says there are some things he has not said about Sarah Palin that are "huge." He says these are things she did while she was Governor that will get her in trouble. He wouldn't answer the question whether these things she did were illegal or immoral. Take a look:
Sarah Palin will appear on The Oprah Winfrey show to promote her new book, reports Politico.
It was announced Tuesday that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be a guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Nov. 16. Palin will promote her forthcoming book, "Going Rogue," and Winfrey will be eager to score such a popular interview during the valuable November ratings period.
Also, expect some awkwardness: Oprah campaigned for Palin's opponent, Barack Obama, during the 2008 campaign.
Now that's going to be an interesting interview. We can't imagine what approach Oprah will use. Will she lob softballs? Talk about politics? Or will she go straight for the tough issues like abortion? Maybe she'll ask about Levi Johnston's upcoming naked spread for Playgirl. Or perhaps Sarah will show Oprah how to make moose stew. It's anyone's guess.
