The film is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) and looks pretty amazing if you like those end of the world movies. We do, we've seen them all. This one has to do with the Mayan calendar prediction that the world is going to end in 2012. Humanity has to find a way to survive the apocalypse and John Cusack is just the guy to save his adorable family before the world ends. It's about time Cusack starred in a mainstream blockbuster. His career was really taking some wrong turns. Cusack not being snarky + cute kids + Roland Emmerich = yes, we will go see it. Take a look:
