Natalie Portman to Star in Pride and Prejudice Zombie Film

Pride and Prejudice and ZombiesVariety reports that Natalie Portman will star in and produce a film version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The film is based on Seth Grahame-Smith's novel that adds a zombie menace to the Jane Austen classic.
Though Austen's name is on the book, Grahame-Smith took the liberty of adding bloodthirsty flesh-eating zombies to the mix.

Portman will produce through her handsomecharlie shingle with Annette Savitch, plus Darko Films' Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Ted Hamm.

Described as an expanded version of the Austen classic, the book tells the timeless story of a woman's quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers
Natalie Portman will play the heroine Elizabeth Bennet in the Lionsgate film. It should make for an interesting film.

Keira Knightley Lands My Fair Lady Role

Keira KnightleyThe Telegraph reports that Keira Knightley has beat out Scarlett Johansson for the role of Eliza Doolittle in a remake of My Fair Lady. Pride and Prejudice director Joe Wright will be directing My Fair Lady. Keira also starred in Pride and Prejudice.
"Joe and Keira are looking forward to working together again immensely," says a friend of the 37-year-old director.

In August, I reported that Knightley had been forced to compete with Johansson, 24, for the role of the Cockney flower seller played by Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 film.

"I have two actresses as potential Elizas, one British, the other American," said Sir Cameron Mackintosh, who is producing the film with Duncan Kenworthy, at the time. "You'd know their names, but I'm not letting on."
Other details released about the film are that Emma Thompson is writing the script and Daniel Craig may play Professor Henry Higgins.
