MAC Cosmetics has partnered with Liberty of London, known for its kaleidoscopic prints and bohemian chic, for a new makeup collection. The Spring 2010 makeup line includes Britannia compacts, lipsticks, ee shadows, powder, blush, bail lacquers, make up bags and a scarf. You can find the new collection here on MAC's website. Mac Cosmetics Chantel Miller Shares Halloween Looks
Senior MAC Cosmetics make-up artist Chantel Miller shows Russ Mitchell some fun Halloween make-up ideas. Some of the looks include a zebra lady, butterfly and he-devil. MAC Cosmetics has released a promotional video for their hot new Hello Kitty collection. The Alice in the Wonderland inspired promo begins with a MAC model laying on a giant pile of pink cotton candy. Instead of following a white rabbit, the model sets off after a cute black kitty who leads her into a strange land filled with Chipendale dancers with giant black Hello Kitty heads. Works for us. MAC's Hello Kitty Collection Goes on Sale Online Today
MAC's Hello Kitty products are expected to arrive on maccosmetics.com today but the website is down early this morning. The MAC Hello Kitty cosmetics will arrive in Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Macys and MAC stores on February 12th, 2009. The MAC Hello Kitty products are also online here on Nordstrom.com and here on bloomingdales.com. The rumored MAC Hello Kitty products have been confirmed. WWDreports that there will be two Mac Hello Kitty collections: the Hello Kitty Colour Collection and the more high-end Hello Kitty Kouture. Here's a sample of what you kind find in the Hello Kitty Colour Collection.
The bulk of the items are in the former category: six shades of lipstick with names like Fashion Mews and Strayin', each $14; six Lipglass shades, each $14; and two tinted lip conditioners, $14.50 each; two eye shadow palettes, which each contain four shades and retail for $38; two shades of pigment are $19.50 each, and two Reflects Glitter stockkeeping units - one blue, one pink - are $17.50 each. Four Glitter Eye Liners, each $16.50, two shades of Beauty Powder, each $22; three shades of nail polish, each $11; a black mascara, $12, and false lashes, $12, round out the color offerings. Shades range from pinks and turquoises to lavenders and greens.
Hello Kitty Colour items will be sold Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Macys, MAC stores and online at maccosmetics.com.
WWD says the Hello Kitty Kouture collection will only be available at MAC stores and maccosmetics.com and it will only be available for eight weeks.
Hello Kitty Kouture is intended to be the high end of the collection. Two shades of Dazzleglass, each $28, each feature a reusable silver chain pendant with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals on black with a pink crystal bow. Sheer Mystery Powder, $90 and available in three shades, is packaged in a silver powder compact with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals with a pink crystal bow on a black background.
There are also a few other items such as a plush doll ($42) and purse mirror ($22) that will be sold at Nordstrom, MAC stores and maccosmetics.com. The products will arrive on maccosmetics.com on February 10th, 2009 and will be in North American stores on February 12th, 2009 and in overseas stores in March, 2009. However, a waiting list will go live on January 7th on maccosmetics.com.
Hello Kitty fans are agog about the rumor that Mac will be launching a Hello Kitty limited edition collection in February, 2009. Beauty Anonymous reports:

Mac has launched a limited edition collection by Indian designer Manish Arora. This lovely eye shadow compact features heart-shaped gems dropped in the middle of a golden petal burst pattern. Inside are six bright shades. This would made a fun gift for anyone who loves bright, edgy colors. We really are suckers for a pretty compact. It retails for $38 at Mac. Hanukkah is still going strong, but those who celebrated Christmas on the 25th seem a bit pooped from all the shopping, cooking, partying and gift-giving. In fact, the patrons at our local Starbucks this morning looked quite zombie-like. Thank goodness someone is launching something this week. Pamela Anderson has been named the new Viva Glam spokesmodel by Mac Cosmetics, joining current spokespersons Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Linda Evangelista and Chloe Sevigny. Pamela will appear in a new advertisement for Viva Glam V Lipstick and Lipglass, the primary fund-raising tools for the m*a*c AIDS Fund. 100% of the sales of the Lipstick and Lipglass are donated to people living with AIDS. Pamela advocates the "get tested" mantra as part of the awareness campaign.
To date the m*a*c AIDS Fund has raised over $42 million in its 11th year of fighting against HIV/AIDS. With the launch of Viva Glam V and its diverse spokespersons in 2004, the fund raised a record $10 million in just one year.
