The Daily Mailreports that singer Lily Allen is ditching her music career (at least temporarily) to open a vintage clothing shop with her sister. The Daily Mail says Lily Allen and her sister are seeking out a location in central London for the new shop.
'I'm in the office every day, sourcing clothes and getting really excited about my new venture.'
Lily and her sister are busy looking for a central London location for the shop, which in a novel move will allow girls to rent clothes for a fraction of their retail value.

'I'm also doing a vintage clothes shop with my sister, it's amazing stuff that would be really expensive but we're renting it [out] for a fraction of the price, so girls can come and get dressed up for a night out and have a laugh,' she told NME.com.
Lily Allen has also returned to Twitter, @lilyroseallen. Lily Allen quit Twitter last November and threw her laptops away. She must have bought a new laptop because she is tweeting regularly again. Lily's most recent tweet is that is she going to watch Lady Gaga at the O2 arena. In another recent tweet, Lily Allen expresses frustration.
Lady Gaga won three awards at this year's Brit Awards. JLS, Lily Allen, Spice Girls, Dizzee Rascal and Kasabian were some of the other winners at this year's Brit Awards. You can see a complete list of the winners here. Take a look:
Lily Allen Plans Two Year Hiatus From Recording Music
Fans of Lily Allen will have to wait two years before they hear anything new from her. She is planning a two year hiatus with no new music in 2010 or 2011. Lily Allen will probably stick to her no music plan. She quit Twitter in September and hasn't tweeted since. ITN says she plans to pursue other projects while she's not recording music, including starting her own record company. Take a look:
Lily Allen Says She Threw Her Laptops Away When She Quit Twitter
Lily Allen's last tweet on Twitter was posted on September 28th, 2009. It read, "I am a neo-luddite, goodbye."
It sounds like Lily Allen went to pretty extreme measures to keep herself from typing in a tweet. In this brief interview with ITN, Lily says "I've thrown away my laptops. I haven't got a BlackBerry." She must have felt she couldn't resist the urge to tweet if she kept her laptops around. Take a look:
Video: Katy Perry Makes Play to Steal Karl Lagerfeld Away From Lily Allen
Katy Perry has just upped the ante in the ongoing war between her and Lily Allen. The two singers absolutely loathe each other ever since Katy described her self in an interview as "thinner than Lily Allen, fatter than Amy Winehouse." Lily fired back by mocking Katy for not writing her own songs.
The feud picked up again when Lily (who is starring in ads for Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel) performed at the Paris Chanel Spring/Summer 2010 show. Lily refused to perform if she could see Katy Perry in the audience. The Chanel people did not want to offend Katy Perry and so seated her somewhere that Lily couldn't see her (some said she was banned, but Katy said she saw the show). Given that background, this video of Katy Perry interviewing Karl Lagerfeld for Elle magazine is absolutely jam-packed with drama (and unintentional hilarity).
Karl had never met Katy before but was happy to chat with her. During the chat she asked him what song describes him most and he (clearly having no idea of the ongoing feud) answered that it's the Lily Allen song "It's Not Me, It's You." "Of course" replies Katy through clenched teeth. She then went on to says she'd love to wear the dress with leather ornamentation that looks like metal to the EMAs (European Movie Awards) -- if that was possible. He replied that it was more than possible. She said she'd have to live on lattes and tic-tacs to fit into it, to which Karl pooh-poohed her and said she couldn't possibly be more than a size 2! Lily Allen will be absolutely livid when she hears about this.
Will Katy Perry manage to steal Karl's affections from Lily Allen? Take a look:
Karl Lagerfeld took the Chanel label back to the country for the Spring/Summer 2010 show in Paris. Karl's inspiration was the fact that not that long ago, France was mostly inhabited by peasants. But this is Chanel, of course, so the inspiration leaned more towards Marie Antoinette playing at being a shepherdess at the Petit Trianon at Versailles. Prince, Rihanna and Claudia Schiffer all attended.
The setting was a giant Chanel barn; the models arrived out of a giant hay bale. There were milkmaid and shepherdess inspired ensembles, but also some classic suits. Karl is all about the clog for spring, so there were lots of those. At the end of the show, two models and an actor rolled around in the hay, as Lily Allen emerged from the floor surrounded by models wearing Karl's creations. Lily sang "Not Fair" which is the second single from her album,
It's Not Me, It's You. Take a look:
Hilary Alexander of The Telegraph talked backstage to Karl Lagerfeld about his inspiration for the show, and we get a better look at some of the clothes. Karl says that even when he goes to the country, his look never changes. If it is colder, he dresses a bit warmer, but that's it. Take a look:
Making Of Photos From Chanel's Coco Cocoon Lily Allen Campaign
Chanel has released more photographs from the making of its upcoming Coco Cocoon handbag collection featuring Lily Allen. The handbag collection will be officially released on October 3rd.
Lily Allen graces the cover of the October 2009 issue of Elle UK. Lily Allen has a new blonde look just for the Elle issue. In the interview with , Lily talked about her music.
On Her Target Audience: "I am very aware that there are kids and much older people who get enjoyment out of my music. But I suppose the ones I am really trying to capture the attention of are the people my own age, which is odd because I don’t hang out with people my own age."
On Her Song "Not Fair" Intimidating Men: "Yes, they are, and I wish I'd never written Not Fair [her country and western-style track from It's Not Me about men who are bad at sex]. You know, the thought honestly - really, honestly - never even occurred to me that it would scare men. I thought it might empower women. I thought women would go: 'Oh God, yes, at last somebody is saying it.' I didn't think it would put me in a position where guys would be like, "Whoa, no, I'm not sleeping with you in case you write something about it!"
Elle UK says Lily also talks about what it is like to have London's top designers create clothes just for her. You can see more photos from the issue here. Here's a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot.
This video provides a behind-the-scenes look at Lily Allen's photo shoot at Chanel with designer Karl Lagerfeld. The photo shoot is for the Chanel Coco Cocoon handbag ad campaign. Lily Allen even posed with Karl Lagerfeld in a couple of shots. Take a look:
Lily Allen is on vacation in with Kate Moss and Kate's daughter in St. Tropez. The Daily Mail features photos of Lily looking quite trim and reports that Lily has been asking Kate for advice on dieting. Kate has kindly shared her secret regime, called "the rock chick diet" which consists of champagne, vodka, coffee and cigarettes. Yum!
According to Closer magazine, Lily recently turned to Kate for help on keeping the weight off.
'Kate's been telling her to try the "rock chick" diet - coffee, cigarettes, vodka and champagne, which are relatively low in calories,' a friend of the star revealed.
The friends looked relaxed and happy earlier in the day as they strolled on the beach towards the yacht with Kate's daughter, Lila Grace, aged six, at times walking between them holding each of their hands.
The best thing about the rock chick diet is the fabulous breath it gives you. And, of course, the lung cancer. Oh, and the cirrhosis of the liver. It's a win win, really.
Lily Allen is cutting quite a swath through the fashion industry these days. She's the new face of Chanel handbags and starred in a Breakfast at Tiffany's style photoshoot looking fabulous. Now she's launching her own jewelry line.
There are huge green pear pendants, mini cherry rings, fish on chains, smiley Have A Nice Day-esque faces galore, and a few pandas and flamingos thrown in for good measure. So where did the inspiration come from? 'Well, I have a tattoo of a smiley face on my wrist, which kind of comes from my love of acid trance music,' she told us, 'and I did a photo-shoot with iD magazine where I dressed up as a panda, so that's where that came from.'
Here are two brief videos of Lily at a photo shoot for her jewelry line for Grazia magazine. Take a look:
Lily Allen stars in a new Chanel handbag campaign. The black and white photos show Lily dressed as a modern day version of Audrey Hepburn's character Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's, right down to the diamond tiara. Lily Allen looks amazing. Karl Lagerfeld really has a marvelous eye.
Here's the latest from Lily Allen. The video for "22" is shot in a restroom where Lily and several other young women are putting on make-up. The song discusses life being already over for women by age 30.
It's sad but it's true how society says
Her life is already over
There's nothing to do and there's nothing to say
Til the man of her dreams comes along picks her up and puts her over his shoulder
It seems so unlikely in this day and age
It's certainly not the most upbeat song. Take a look:
