Renee Zellweger's new movie looks quite interesting. My One and Only is based on the childhood of actor George Hamilton. Renee plays George's mother,
the beautiful and eccentric Ann Devereaux, who has just left her philandering husband, played by actor Kevin Bacon in the film. She heads out on the road with her teenage sons George and Robbie in search of a wealthy replacement to her roving husband. Along the way, the family encounters some misadventures, eccentric people and are victims of crime.
For George it was an emotional experience seeing his early life played out on film. And for Renee, it was a difficult task portraying the complicated Ann. Take a look:
Kyra Sedgwick Talks The Closer's Bernie Madoff Storyline
Kyra Sedgwick, who is nominated for the fourth time for an Emmy for The Closer was a guest on The Tonight Show last night. Kyra talked about how the show's creator seems to craft the episodes around real events that happen in Kyra's life. For example, the first episode of The Closer this season features the brutal murder of a financier who swindled people out of billions of dollars. Krya and her husband Kevin Bacon were swindled by Bernie Madoff, who is now in prison. Take a look:
Kevin Bacon was mugged at the subway station at Seventh Avenue and 53rs street on Thursday. The mugger grabbed Bacon's BlackBerry and ran off, with Bacon in hot pursuit.
Bacon didn't give up the BlackBerry easily. The star took off after the crook, but lost track of him as he raced through the station's crowd, the sources said.
The numbers for Bacon's wife, Kyra Sedgwick -- who plays a cunning detective on the hit TV drama "The Closer" -- is no doubt stored in the phone, possibly along with dozens of other box- office stars who have graced the big screen with Bacon.
But this isn't the first time Bacon was robbed. He and Sedgwick were swindled by Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff, who pleaded guilty to running a $65 billion fraud in March.
NYC Transit officials said no subway personnel were told about the crime, although sources said Bacon did call police.
The Post says that according to NYPD Transit Bureau records cellphones are the prime target of muggers in 37% of the 823 robberies committed in the subway system last year.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kevin Bacon Chill at the Bowery Ballroom
In the photo above, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kevin Bacon chill at the Ray-Ban Remasters party at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Other celebrities in attendance included Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Diane Kruge and the cast of MTV's upcoming reality series, The City. The party included a concert by The Black Kids, Ipso Facto and White Williams, as well as a DJ set by Paul Sevigny.
Ray-Ban held the event to relaunch its Clubmaster shades. Ray-Ban's Clubmaster made its first appearance in 1986 taking reference from 1950's Browline design. Actor Kevin Bacon approves of the style.
"They're just kind of iconic you know? With the iconic shapes and the iconic photographs that have been taken of people wearing them. I have plenty of pairs myself and they just always look cool," said Kevin Bacon. If you haven't seen it be sure to check out Bacon's hilarious Kevin Bacon Movie Club video.
The New York City Remasters event was the first installment of an international three-city concert tour; the second act of Ray-Ban Remasters will take place in Beijing (China) in early 2009 and in Milan (Italy) in Spring 2009.
You remember the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game, in which any actor can be connected to Kevin Bacon within six steps? Kevin Bacon was a good sport about the game, and founded a charity called SixDegrees.org. Six Degrees and Hanes got together to create a T-short to support the charity. Up to $10,000 will be
awarded to the causes of the six people most successful at connecting with friends and family to raise funds for their favorite charities. The official SixDegrees.org T-shirt from Hanes, made from ultrasoft cotton, is available for purchase for $20 at Hanes.com and SixDegrees.org.
From the official release:
SixDegrees.org, which was created in partnership with the nonprofit, Network for Good, launched at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2007 to bring a social conscience to social networking. The Web site spotlights 50 celebrities' causes and allows noncelebrities to donate to or raise funds for their own favorite charities. Celebrities involved in the site include Kyra Sedgwick (Natural Resources Defense Council), Nicole Kidman (UNIFEM), Ashley Judd (YouthAIDS), Tyra Banks (TZONE Foundation), Kanye West (Kanye West Foundation), Rosie O'Donnell (Rosie's For All Kids Foundation), and Jessica Simpson (Operation Smile). The site features an auction of celebrity-signed items to benefit charity.
"We started with a group of my celebrity friends in January, but the real celebrities with a cause have turned out to be people who aren't from Hollywood," said Bacon. "In our first six months, for every celebrity involved, we've had 100 noncelebrities join, and this community has raised nearly $700,000 for thousands of charities with their badges. It goes to show that when we connect with others, our degrees of separation become smaller, and the world becomes a whole lot better."
Visitors to SixDegrees.org are encouraged to create charity badges, which are fundraising widgets that people can design themselves to raise money for any of more than 1.5 million charities and place anywhere online - including blogs, Web sites and social networks. The six people who receive the most number of donations from different people through their badge from July 19 to Sept. 16 will receive up to $10,000 in matching funds for their charity, and anyone who receives at least six donations through their badge will receive the official SixDegrees.org T-shirt from Hanes.
Kevin Bacon has been in so many movies over the years, it's mind-boggling. And now we hear that they're re-making Footloose. We feel the Shia LaBeouf buzz already starting for that one.... and it really scares us.
