Jessica Simpson Talks John Mayer, Mom Jeans On Oprah
Jessica Simpson appears on The Oprah Winfrey Show today. Jess talks about her new reality show The Price of Beauty, the infamous mom jeans tabloid frenzy and how she feels about John Mayer's indiscreet comments about their relationship.
Jess says she still hasn't forgiven John. "I was so disappointed in him....
That's not the John I knew." She says she feels betrayed and a little bit angry. She hasn't responded to his texts. "I haven't written back ... I don't accept it. I hope he gets his life together."
As for the mom jeans? They were a size 4, yet the media ridiculed her for being fat.
"People [were] talking about my weight for an entire year," she says. "It's like people just couldn't stop talking about my weight fluctuating."
At first, Jessica says she tried to ignore the uproar over her 10-pound weight gain, but she couldn't block out the barrage of negativity. "It would bother any woman, I would think. I had to get to a place where I had to guard myself," she says. "The fact that I was famous last year for gaining 10 pounds, it's ridiculous, and it's really sad."
Jess' friend and hairdresser Ken Paves said that doing The Price of Beauty made him ashamed of the business he's in.
"I actually came back a bit embarrassed and a bit ashamed of the industry that I'm in," Ken says. "Because the industry that I've been a part of and was so proud of in the beginning has alienated so many people and done exactly what it's done to Jessica and many of the women I'm sure that sit here. [It's] made them feel like they don't fit within that idea of beauty."
Ken says this adventure reinforced his belief that real women and real beauty should be celebrated.
It sounds like a great interview; Jess clearly took the high road on the John Mayer comments. He deserved a verbal flogging on Oprah, but he's such a megalomaniac that he probably would have enjoyed the publicity.

Jessica Simpson covers the March, 2010 issue of Allure magazine. In the issue, Jessica talks about acting, turning 30 and men she has dated, including John Mayer and Tony Romo.
On Posing Nude:
"I will never do nudity . . . I don't care if I frickin' could get an Oscar for it, I'm not going to do it. Those accolades mean nothing to me. I don't think people deserve to see what's under my clothing. That's only for my next husband--ha-ha-ha."
On John Mayer:
"He didn't make me go brunette! John doesn't get credit for making me brunette. He'd like to think so, but he doesn't deserve the credit."
On Tony Romo:
"I'm still a fan. I'm a huge fan. I wear my gear, and I cheer Tony on. You know, I talked to Tony today. None of my breakups, none of it's been bitter."
On Turning 30:
"I never really thought, growing up, what am I gonna be like when I'm 30? I just kind of thought I had it figured out: I'm going to be this great pop star, have my songs on the radio, be married, and have babies. . . But things can be taken away from you. A song can not be played on the radio. An album can not work."

CNN reports that Ashlee Simpson told Women's Health magazine that Women's Health magazine that she wants people to refrain from calling her sister, Jessica, fat.
"It's disgusting that people would say those things," Simpson-Wentz, who shows off her own svelte frame in the December issue of the magazine, said. "My sister has an incredible body. I feel sorry for anyone who would judge her, because she's one sexy lady."
We agree. Ashlee says she may be curvier one day herself. "There's gonna be a time when I'm way curvier, and that'll be sexy, too," Simpson-Wentz said.
Meanwhile, Ashlee Simpson is headed for her finale episode of Melrose Place and Kristin says Ashlee will be involved in a "wild crazy" sex scene.
We're hearing there's going to be a "crazy naked" sex scene on Melrose Place before the two recently ousted players go on their merry way: Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield.
How racy is it? "It involves us both wearing half-loin cloths that they had to tape to us," Colin himself tells us. "There are very few clothes involved in the near future."
Jessica Simpson tweeted last night that her dog named Daisy was taken by a coyote last night. She wrote, "My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR! We are search..."

Jessica Simpson discusses
her new lingerie line with WWD. The Camuto Group, which holds the master license for all of Jessica's fashion ventures, inked a deal with Vandale Industries to create the new line, which Jessica is very involved with. The collection launches to retailers this week in Manhattan. Jessica talked about her love for lingerie and the tone of the new collection.
"Of course I love lingerie. What girl doesn’t? My lingerie reflects the way I'm feeling when I wake up and helps me set the tone for my day.
*****
I think lingerie is a special part of what you wear every day. It's fun to pick different colors and styles. What you wear underneath your clothes helps define the outfit, whether T-shirt bras, push-up bras, different patterns and colors, you always have to choose what works best.
It is important to me personally...to be able to wear my own line. Vandale is developing a great collection of feminine, sexy, regular and full-figured bras which are going to be amazing. We are also working on a sleepwear collection that I know I will live in. We have focused on using really soft fabrics that feel good against your skin. The whole line centers around great basics for every day that are comfortable and fit your body. We spent a lot of time on the details. I really wanted to make this line special."
Jessica especially loves the seersucker group in the collection which she calls "classic and adorable." She describes the entire line as "feminine and sweet with a hint of fun."
Actress and singer Jessica Simpson covers the June issue of Vanity Fair. Jessica looks gorgeous in the photo shoot by photographer Mario Testino. Jessica Simpson - who is becoming her own fashion brand these days with lingerie, shoes, swimwear and more - talked to Vanity Fair in the feature interview about her faith, Nick Lachey and media criticism.
On Her Faith: "I'm spiritual. I live off the faith that has been instilled in me, that has never left. I've never let a stumbling block actually make me fall.... We all go through trials, but not one thing has ever made me question God. I have a great relationship with God. I can talk to him, get mad at him, frustrated with him. But, ultimately, my faith is what defines me."
On Media Criticism: "When it comes to media criticism, that's just something I have had to train myself--literally train myself--to ignore.... I mean, the way people make it sound, I should have never been singing in the first place.... It comes with what I do, and I know that every day the media's going to challenge me, is going to want to bring me down. But I feel like I'm at such a place that I own myself, and it's authentic. I own that authentic part of myself, and none of those words are harsh enough to make me believe them.... I can't imagine saying some of the things people have said about me about anybody else."
On Ex-husband Nick Lachey: "I have not spoken to him in years. [As for the show,] in all honesty, I believe it did not affect our marriage. Because we enjoyed watching those episodes, and that will always be a time I cherish. It made me understand what marriage is, what love is, what commitment is."
The Vanity Fair interview also talks about the epic 1992 Mickey Mouse Club auditions that Jessica Simpson tried out for against Jason Timberlake, Brinty Spears and Christina Aguilera.
If you wanted to change the course of history, you could send Schwarzenegger back to 1992 to destroy that studio, as on its stages were the next 20 years of tabloid culture: Timberlake, Spears, Aguilera, and Simpson in shrunken, Muppet-baby form.
