David Beckham walks the red carpet at the launch of his new sportswear line for Adidas Originals by Originals with fashion designer James Bond. David talks about the pieces in the collection and his trust in James. Posh makes a brief appearance to post with her hubby. Take a look:
Duffy could be singing the theme song for the next James Bond movie. The Sunquotes Bond producer Michael G Wilson as saying he would "love to get Duffy to sing the next tune."
The Warwick Avenue warbler was in Bond bigwig Michal G Wilson's sights at the Ivor Novello Awards at the plush Grosvenor House hotel in London last night.
Producer Michael told me: "I would love to get Duffy to sing the next tune. I think she is wonderful. Amy Winehouse would be good too.
"We have started work on the new film, which I can’t say anything about. Daniel Craig is very keen to get going."
She sounds like a good pick to us. She has a great voice. Duffy's website can be found here.
David Beckham is adding
a new job to his resume: fashion designer. David will be designing sportswear for Adidas under its Orignals by Originals label. David will be collaborating with James Bond who owns the cult sneaker boutiques, Undefeated.
The fall line will feature materials such as cashmere, silk and leather and the footwear will hew close to Adidas' classic styles. Unfortunately, David will not be starring in his own ads.
We've learned recently that the rumor that Freida Pinto would be signing with Estee Lauder is not true. But maybe this rumor that Freida will be the next Bond girl will turn out to be true.
Executive producer Barbara Broccoli is eager for her to join the cast - after earmarking Slumdog director Danny Boyle for the top job.
A source said: "Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting Quantum of Solace.
"She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.
"But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig's arm."
The Sun also says that Slumdog Millioinaire director Danny Boyle could be directing the next Bond film, which would
naturally give Freida a great chance of signing on as well.
"Danny Boyle is favourite to take the helm of the next movie, which would increase Freida's chances of a starring role."
Freida, who has befriended A-Listers including Angelina Jolie, hired Kate Winslet's LA agent in her bid for success.
Freida is certainly the focus of a lot of attention and rumors. She will have to careful about which projects she selects. Hopefully, a role on the next Bond movie will be one of them. Jennifer Aniston would be a great choice as well.
Tom Ford Helped Bond Look Stylish in Quantum of Solace
Tom Ford designed Daniel Craig's sleek wardrobe for the latest Bond film, Quantum of Solace. The film was a blockbuster hit. Daniel Craig looked so polished -- and stylish -- that we think Tom Ford should dress James Bond in all future movies. The L.A. Times has an article about 007's wardrobe in the latest film.
So how do you push that Bond mystique into the 21st century when Savile Row bespoke is a mouse click away and GPS-enabled iPhones make Q's arsenal of gadgetry seem quaint by comparison? For "Quantum of Solace," the 22nd movie in the series and the first in 13 years with a new costume designer, part of the answer lies in the wardrobe -- which includes a collection of razor-sharp, made-to-measure suits by Tom Ford that turn out to be the perfect workaday uniform for Daniel Craig's dapper but deadly take on the Bond character.
The L.A. Times says the Bond also had a small button tab inside the cuff of each pant leg to keep them where they should be.
Thus, one of Bond's coolest secret weapons this time around is a small button tab inside the cuff of each trouser leg that never has a second of screen time, and whose sole purpose is to keep 007's pant legs precisely where they should be. Another is the suit jacket sleeves with functioning buttonholes (another hardly noticeable detail that conveys a sense of sartorial high status). And then there are the suit fabrics themselves, which have a soft drape and almost imperceptible iridescence that took six months of fine-tuning to get just right.
New York Magazine's blog The Cut says the suits had to be "swishy" and have a "roomy skirt" so they would still look perfect even when 007 was leaping from an exploding building.
Ford's sartorial genius is not merely abstract. To put it concretely, the suits must be cut so that sexy Daniel Craig can run, jump, and blow things up while still looking dashing. Ford's suits have a "roomy skirt" - the part of a suit jacket hanging below the waist - that enables such maneuvers.
Trust us. The word "swishy" in no way applies to Daniel Craig's Bond, who looks fabulously manly in every scene. Craig knows how to wear a tuxedo, that's for sure. But on to accessories. Bond's sunglasses were designed by Tom Ford, as well. You can see them here on Eyegoodies.com for $349. (via Luxist)
The new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, broke
box office records for the spy film franchise. This past weekend, the film racked up $70.4 million in box office receipts.
That far exceeds the $60M which Hollywood expected. It's also blows away by 73% the $40.8M North American weekend debut of Daniel Craig's James Bond in MGM/Sony's Casino Royale (November 2006), and easily beats the $47.1M bow of Die Another Day (November 2002) that used to be the best ever. Quantum's success must be due to either pent-up demand for Hollywood's holiday season product or Daniel Craig's new-found popularity or both. Because the new Bond-as-Bourne's reviews were dismal (only 35% positive from top critics on Rotten Tomatoes as opposed to 95% for its predecessor). But it appears this 22nd Bond's delayed U.S. debut -- three weeks after its October 31st bow in the UK and two weeks after most of the world -- proved to be a savvy distribution and marketing move for the new pic. Even though U.S. Bond fans have been bitching and moaning all over the Internet that they didn't want to wait so long to see the film, which so far has made a staggering $251M internationally from 73 territories, or $322M worldwide. The pic is over halfway towards Casino Royale's global $599.2M after coming off a $126.5M weekend overseas.
And it has yet to open in Japan, Australia and Spain.
We saw the film Friday and loved it. Daniel Craig looks fabulous: he's quite angsty over the death of his girlfriend in the first movie, Casino Royale, and hellbent on revenge. Our two favorite scenes were 1) the opening car chase in the hills around Siena, Italy and 2) the intrigue and action-laden night at the opera. A high-tech version of Puccini's Tosca is being performed, which makes the perfect backdrop for an J.J. Abrams-worthy evening of spying. We also loved Judi Densch: she's the best M the series has ever had, hands down.
Ford has released this image of Olga Kurylenko standing next to a Ford Ka in the upcoming James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Olga plays Camille in the upcoming movie. Ford cars were used in the last Bond film as well.

Product placement in television and films is nothing new. But this is the first time we've seen a fragrance which was specifically created to evoke a movie.
Avon has announced a collaboration with the James Bond entertainment franchise to create a new signature Bond Girl 007 women's fragrance.
British actress Gemma Arterton, who plays the role of Agent Fields in the upcoming Bond film, will be the face of the new fragrance. She will appear in TV and print advertising when Bond Girl 007 launches globally in October 2008 in conjunction with the worldwide release of Quantum of Solace.
"I'm thrilled to be working with two such iconic and established brands," said Gemma Arterton. "The Bond Girl 007 fragrance embodies everything a Bond Girl represents -- intelligence, sexiness and confidence."
The fragrance, created by Firmenich, is supposed to
"evoke the glamour, confidence and sensuality of the famous femmes fatale of the Bond franchise." So what does a Bond girl smell like? It features top notes of velvety white peach and orange blossom followed by mid-notes of jasmine, calypso orchid and freesia. The drydown consists of amber, cashmere wood and patchouli.
The bottle is supposed to resemble a female body and the cap is an homage to a Bond spy gadget. Will women buy a fragrance that's supposed to make them smell like a Bond girl? We shall see....
