Design Boom reports that Spanish Designer Rodrigo Canedo has come up with a concept called Project Moki. Mokis are soft rubber characters with ears and arms that fit around an iPod Shuffle. It's a clever idea. He should make them to cover all the different iPod models.
Apple has launched the third generation of its iPod Shuffle. The new Shuffle is half the size of the previous iPod Shuffle - it's smaller than a AA battery. It also has a new feature called VoiceOver that lets the iPod Shuffle talk to you. The 4GB can hold up to 4,000 songs. iPod shuffle can speak 14 languages including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
The new 4GB iPod shuffle comes in silver or black for a suggested retail price of $79. The iPod shuffle comes with the Apple Earphones with Remote and the iPod shuffle USB cable.
Here's a guided tour of the tiny iPod Shuffle from Apple.
Tomi, the designer for PodBrix, has designed a new shirt called the iShirt which works with the iPod Shuffle. The shirt
(seen on the right) contains a magnetic clasp system that locks
the iPod Shuffle into place on the shirt. The shirt can be found
at Podshirt.com. Tomi's last apparel design, the Brixwear 1000, sold out in just eighteen minutes. Tomi
warns that this shirt works only with the iPod Shuffle and not
the iPod Mini or standard iPod. Tomi also says on the website
that they plan to release other t-shirt and apparel products
later, so maybe there will eventually be a shirt for the other
iPod versions.
Now that iPod's have become the tech gadget to own a large market for
iPod accessories has emerged. MacWorldNews reported that the iPod
accessory market passed $100 million in 2004, according to an NPD
Group study. iPod accessories include armbands, belt clips, car kits, dashboard holders, battery backups, cleaners, protective cases, portable speakers, earphones, stands and battery chargers. The iPodlounge does a great job of tracking all the latest iPod accessories and product news. The forecasted boom in Podcasting, like blogging but with audio, will also help sales of iPods and MP3 players for the foreseeable future. And Apple Computer's new smaller iPod, the iPod Shuffle, will allow for a whole new array of iPod accessories.
