Home Security Robot Goes on Sale in Japan
ZMP Inc.'s walking 15-inch tall home security robot called Nuvo
will soon be on sale in Japan. The stylish little robot can walk and respond to voice commands. It also dances and makes music. While that all sounds fun, Nuvo actually has a practical use as a security robot. Nuvo contains
a digital camera inside its head that takes images. Robot owners can
contact Nuvo with a cell phone to get a look at the images and see what
is going on in their home. Forbes.com reports that the robots will only
be sold in Japan in a limited amount. Nuvo is not cheap with a 588,000
yen ($5,450) price tag. So far, there is no word on when ZMP might make Nuvo available for purchase in the United States or Europe.
