The new augmented reality (AR) music video for John Mayer's single, "Heartbreak Warfare," puts Mayer virtually in the hands of fans. To launch the AR music video, fans hold a printable marker, or "glyph," in front of their webcam and then get to watch the dynamic experience unfold on-screen. As Mayer starts to sing, his fans can then play with the animated living room scene by moving their glyph around – spinning, rotating and even flipping John's virtual world upside down. The video can be played on John Mayer's website at johnmayer.com. You will need to download a PDF file and have a webcam installed on your computer to make it work. You can get an idea for what the AR looks like in the video from Blitz below. There's no sound in this video. Take a look:
John Mayer has a new song out that might be about his failed romance with Jennifer Aniston. The song is called "Heartbreak Warfare" and doesn't mention Jen by name. But the lyrics and timing are certainly provocative.
Aniston, 40, isn't mentioned by name in the new track, which features the chorus, "If you want more love, Why don't you say so?" and lyrics including: "Drop his name, push it in and twist the knife again; Watch my face as I pretend to feel no pain, pain, pain."
In an audio clip posted on YouTube, Mayer, 31, tells the audience on his Mayercraft Carrier 2 cruise that he plans to record the track in mid-April for his upcoming CD Battle Studies.
"The concept of the album is the war of love – the art of war of love," Mayer explained to the crowd. "Sometimes instead of saying 'I love you,' people can't recognize that. They recognize how much you come to their aid when they are in pain."
"I am a positivity man," he continued. "Sometimes people try to recognize love in terms of negativity. When you are in that situation, that is not a lot of fun."
Here's the audio clip from the Positivity Man's cruise. The song starts at around 3:20.
