2010 Oscar Fashions: George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis
George Clooney took his Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis to the Academy Awards. George looked dapper as always in a single breasted Giorgio Armani black tuxedo with notched lapels, although he was in desperate need of a haircut. Elisabetta wore a red satin, strapless gown by Roberto Cavalli which featured red beading detail on the train and a red velvet cape. She carried a Ferragamo clutch.
The dress seemed a bit tight for her and -- according to this report -- split right down the back early in the evening, and had to be repaired on site. Some reports say George sewed it back up, which we don't believe for a minute. You know he was kidding when he told some journalist that he did the repairs.
George Clooney is nominated for Best Actor for his role in Up in the Air. Clooney joked with TV Guide that he is going to win. He said, "Let's face it. I'm winning this thing. It's all me. Everybody says so." He also says he doesn't care for his co-stars Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick. Take a look:

George Clooney and MTV to Host Haiti Telethon January 22
George Clooney will host a telethon for relief for the Haitian earthquake victims. MTV will air the telethon and George is leaning hard on his celebrity friends to participate. Clooney told Roger Friedman that the telethon will air next Friday on all MTV channels.
George told me last night at a private reception for his movie Up in the Air at the Monkey Bar -- hosted by Vanity Fair's Graydon Carter and Paramount's Brad Grey. Clooney is putting out the call today to all his celebrity friends and performers to participate from both coasts on Friday, January 22nd -- and he's gotten MTV's Judy McGrath to agree to air the show on MTV, VH-1, etc. That may be one reason McGrath was a guest at last night's shindig.
Clooney, in a celebratory mood over Up in the Air, has gotten producer Joel Gallen, the guy who handled the famous 9-11 telethon on all the networks, to produce the show. At last night's party he started in by buttonholing Sting -- who came to the Monkey Bar with wife Trudie Styler -- to participate. Sting merely asked, "Where do I go?" and Clooney was off to the races.
No doubt George is working the phones now, lining up celebs to either perform or man the phones. Surely Brad Pitt will pitch in, but Angelina? Hard to say. But Jennifer Aniston manned the phones for the 9/11 telethon, we seem to recall so she might do it.
Video: Fan Drops Trou, Declare Love for George Clooney
During a news conference at the Venice Film Festival, a fan stripped to his boxers and declared his love for George Clooney. George, who is probably used to both men and women throwing themselves at him, didn't seem disturbed by the outburst. He just smiled and commented that "it's hard when you take a big chance and it really doesn't work." We're just grateful that the fan kept his boxers on. Take a look:
Ewan McGregor played a young Obi Wan Kenobi in Star Wars and so is quite familiar with all the Jedi lore. In his new movie, his character meets a real life Jedi played by George Clooney. The movie is based on a book about an actual elite unit of spies that were trained in experimental psychic warfare. They were called the Jedis. The movie is called Men Who Stare at Goats because this elite unit supposedly could kill a goat just with their thoughts. Hey it's Ewan and George. We have to see it. Ewan talks about the film here:

The cover offers a total of twenty-seven possible combinations. Take a look:
George Clooney recently returned from a trip to Africa with NBC to highlight the very serious plight of the people in Chad. He took his own videorecorder with him and has been vlogging along the way, using humor to break up the grim scenes they see during the day. In this clip, he shows us his luxurious hotel bathroom in Goz Beida (it has a bucket and a hose) and then gets a look in the mirror at his hair. Horrified at how awful it looks, he then goes off on an Andy Rooney-style rant. We just love George, he's a scream. Take a look:
George Clooney and Julianna Margulies return to ER in April for the show's finale. Their love affair was one of the most memorable on the show. But the producers never originally intended for Nurse Hathaway to even survive the pilot, much less become an integral part of the show and fall in love with
Dr. Ross. George and Julianna explain:

The auction gives you a good idea of what comes in the gift bags for nominees. Here are a few of the included items.

Omega has been battling Rolex for so long now. When an Omega watch was worn by James Bond (instead of the Rolex that the spy wore in the original books by Ian Fleming), it was considered a great marketing coup by the company. Now the company has decided that George Clooney is the epitome of masculine style -- which he is, of course.
In this photo George Clooney learns how to create an Omega timepiece, with the help of an actual watchmaker at the Nicolas G. Hayek Center in Tokyo on Sunday. No doubt after this intense learning session, George is now able to create his own luxury timepieces whenever he wants.
