What to Do With Thanksgiving Leftovers
Rene Lynch of The Los Angeles Times is already plotting to get rid of all her Thanksgiving leftovers, preferably in a way that is tasty and not too time-consuming. She has some interesting ideas, including what she calls Pilgrim's Pie (a play on Shepherd's Pie) and using the cranberries to make cranberry frozen yogurt.
Frankly, I could eat cranberry relish 365 days of the year, especially when it involves some citrus and spice. But because we have to be somewhat aspirational with our leftovers, how about a dessert that would be a decided break after all that pie?
There are as many routes as there are holiday takes on cranberry relish. You could take that relish and make a sherbet. Ice cream. A tart. A dessert bread. Gelato. But a frozen yogurt just might be the easiest, and it will be light and tangy after all the heaviness of the holiday.
My colleague Jenn Garbee has a great one that couldn't be simpler to make. Just whisk, freeze and fold, as in whisk everything together into yogurt, freeze a bit, and then fold in your leftover cranberry sauce.
The best part is that this is a dessert you can start right before making dinner, and let it set up while you eat.
The full recipe for Pilgrim's Pie is here and the full Cranberry Frozen Yogurt Recipe is

Pinkberry Adding New Locations in U.S. and Overseas
Chain Store Age reports that Pinkberry is expanding in the U.S. and in international markets. The frozen yogurt chain recently debuted stores in Kuwait, Dubai and Dallas.
"We receive an overwhelming interest from the franchise community and evaluate every potential partner against a strict set of criteria to determine if they will be a fit with our growth strategy and our brand," said Ron Graves, Pinkberry CEO.
Chain Store Age says the new U.S. markets Pinkberry is expanding into include Boston, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Colorado, New Orleans and Mexico.

Say It Isn't So: Lawsuit Alleges Pinkberry Is Not Frozen Yogurt
Los Angelinos love their Pinkberry frozen yogurt, which has developed a fanatical, cult following among trendsetters and young celebs. But, alas, a new lawsuit alleges that the frozen treat is neither yogurt, nor is it low-cal. And that has the young and chic very unhappy indeed.
"Crackberry" addicts, prepare for your favorite dessert to take a licking from California Department of Food and Agriculture officials. Their answer:
Nogurt.
"You can't call a product frozen yogurt unless it's mixed off-site and delivered to the site as frozen yogurt," said Steve Lyle, a department spokesman.
Pinkberry executives concede that their product is made with a powder and mixed in-store. They say it includes plain yogurt, yet they wouldn't disclose what else goes into their refreshingly tart treat.
But a lawsuit might force them to take their secret recipe out of the deep freeze.
This week, a civil suit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court by L.A. resident Bryan Williams, 48, who contends that Pinkberry's powdered mix lacks the "good" bacteria cultures found in yogurt.
"For lack of a better word, it's just dessert," said Williams' attorney, Michael Amir. "We're just asking for them to … tell the public the truth."

Pinkberry "is yogurt, absolutely 100%" vowed company President Young Lee, who said he's working with the state to resolve the concerns. "We are more frozen yogurt than other frozen yogurt."
Nevertheless, Pinkberry has removed written references to frozen yogurt from its website. A catchy jingle, though, still extols Pinkberry's fat-free, 25-calorie-per-ounce virtues: "Sorry ice cream, I'm dreaming of a different dessert. Pinkberry shaved ice and frozen yogurt. It doesn't feel like I'm cheating when I'm eating it, because it's healthy I feel better already."

One customer said the hype reminded her of a famous "Seinfeld" episode in which Jerry and Elaine gain weight eating loads of "nonfat" yogurt. They finally test the yogurt only to discover that it's not really fat-free.
"I hope that episode wasn't foreshadowing Pinkberry's ending," one Angeleno wrote on the Giantrobot.com blog.
This is horrifying. Next they'll be telling us that coffee frappucinos are high in calories and that Paris Hilton isn't in the least bit repentant about driving with a suspended license.
