Forever 21 Offering Free Shipping on Cyber Monday
Fast fashion retailer Forever 21 is offering free shipping on Cyber Monday. Use Code: CYBERMONDAY at checkout to get free shipping on your order. This appears to be a no minimum free shipping offer which is a great deal because Forever 21 usually has a minimum order of around $75 to get free shipping. The offer ends at 11:59 P.M. PST on 11-30-09. They don't say exactly when it starts but the likely start time is 12:00 A.M. PST on 11-30-09. Because the details are not fully spelled out in the offer, be sure to double check that the coupon works before you finalize your purchase.

Free Shipping Day is December 17th This Year
 Free Shipping Day is December 17th this year. The official website at freeshippingday.com says over 335 merchants have already signed up to offer free shipping deals with delivery by Christmas Eve. The site also posted an update about 2008's Free Shipping Day event.
In 2007 online shopping peaked on December 10th, fifteen days before Christmas. Seeing this as a bad thing for online shopping, Luke Knowles of the popular money-saving website FreeShipping.org had the idea to create a day late in December when merchants would offer free shipping to shoppers with guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve. He hoped that over time this would convince shoppers that they can shop later into December and have their orders arrive in time for the big day, thus benefiting all involved with online shopping. The first annual Free Shipping Day was Thursday, December 18, 2008.
On December 8, 2008 the FreeShippingDay.com website was launched with 25 participating merchants. Over the next ten days hundreds of blogs and websites, newspapers, radio stations and TV networks ran stories about Free Shipping Day. Because of all the media attention Free Shipping Day received, more than 250 merchants ended up participating and the FreeShippingDay.com website had more than 250,000 visitors including 105,000 on Free Shipping Day itself.
It's a great idea both for retailers and consumers. Retailers are always looking for extra sales near the end of the holiday season and consumers love free shipping. The free shipping offers will be revealed on the site on December 17th.

Borders Will Ship Out-of-Stock Items Free
Reuters reports that Borders has announced it will ship out-of-stock items for free.
The in-stock guarantee announced on Tuesday applies to books and other items carried on the company's web site. When a customer cannot find an item in a Borders store, the company will ship it to the shopper's home for free.
Borders said it believes the program is the first of its kind in the book industry.
The move comes weeks after an online price war for new titles such as Sarah Palin's upcoming book was sparked by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Meanwhile, Borders' main rival, Barnes & Noble Inc, brought out its Nook electronic reader to challenge Amazon.com Inc's Kindle.
The graphic that Borders uploaded to its Twitter account, @Borders, says if you can't find it in a Borders store but they have it in-stock at Borders.com then they will ship the book to you for free. The graphic says it applies to thousands of Borders titles.

Target Expands Free Shipping Promotion
 Target.com announced that it is expanding its selection of free-shipping items this holiday season. Free shipping will be offered on more than 100,000 select items across the Target.com site when guests spend $50 or more on Target.com. Target.com is also kicking off its holiday free-shipping promotion two weeks earlier than it did last year. This year's holiday free-shipping event will begin Sunday, Nov. 1. Target.com will also offer guests a 15 percent discount on all furniture orders of $125 or more from Nov. 1 to Dec. 20, 2009.

Over 500 Merchants to Participate in Free Shipping Day
 Internet Retailer reports that over 500 merchants will participate in this year's Free Shipping Day. Free Shipping Day is Thursday, December 17, 2009. The participating merchants will be listed on the FreeShippingDay.com website on December 1st.
FreeShippingDay.com focuses on the last day when online merchants can accept orders and guarantee delivery by Dec. 24, with free shipping. For merchants listing on Freeshippingday.com this year, that date is Dec. 17. The site, which launched last December, is a year-round informational site for merchants, but starting in December it will post logos and links to merchants that offer free shipping and guaranteed delivery by Dec. 24, for orders submitted as late as Dec. 17.
During its first season last year, FreeShippingDay.com attracted 250,000 hits in the 10 days leading up to Dec. 18. Co-founder Luke Knowles says some smaller merchants set a single-day record for traffic on that day. For larger multichannel merchants that participated last year—including J.C. Penney and Williams-Sonoma—the event provided an additional way to increase sales without having to draw shoppers directly to their physical locations, he says.
Consumers love free shipping so it isn't a surprising Free Shipping Day is taking off. It is also a lot easier to participate in something like Free Shipping Day than Black Friday.
