"I am honoured and excited to be chosen as a judge on Britain's Next Top Model," Macdonald said today. "I hope my passion and experience within the industry can help create a show that is both realistic and fun, but more importantly, find the new face that can grace our catwalks."
The show is a British version of the America's Next Top Model reality show. Elle Macpherson is taking over for the former host, Lisa Snowdon.
The 45-year-old, nicknamed The Body, will preside over the reality show, in which 25 aspiring models compete for a modelling contract.
The series is a spin-off of the runway hit America's Next Top Model. Created and hosted by Tyra Banks, the show is about to start its 14th US series.
Macpherson's lingerie line previously featured in the show's photo shoots.
In a statement, Elle Macpherson said, "I am really enthusiastic and motivated to work with the team of Britain's Next Top Model. We are looking forward to finding the face that can represent the next generation."
44-year-old supermodel Elle Macpherson has taken her latest lingerie collection called "Intimates" to Berlin. Elle started the label in 1990. She is looking to Germany after finding sales success in Australia and the U.S. Elle Macpherson says the one think sexier than lingerie is "having somebody take it off." She thinks guys buying underwear for women is courageous, amusing and sensual. Elle Macpherson is looking to expand aggressively in Europe. She wants 300 of her lingerie stores in Europe by Spring. Elle MacPherson is launching an upscale lingerie line to be called Obsidian. The line will be for women and men, and will make its debut in Spring, 2010. WWD reports:
The range incorporates luxe fabrics such as tulle, silk and jacquard textures sourced from France, Japan and Italy, primarily in a monochromatic palette with hints of pale pink and blue.

Describing the concept of the new brand, Macpherson said, "Obsidian is raw and sexy with a sophisticated edge. My intention with the design was to encompass sophistication, style and fashion-forward design with an intense desirability. The name Obsidian comes from the naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as rock which I found on a recent holiday with friends. It has all the passion and life force of primordial raw energy and seemed a perfect inspiration for this new collection."
There will also be a men's collection of trunks, briefs, boxer briefs, crew neck T-shirts and lounge pants in cashmere, lightweight woven cotton, and a blend of bamboo and cotton in a similar color scheme, which will be introduced in Australia. Prices have not been finalized. The Obsidian brand for women will be merchandised alongside Myla, La Perla and Princesse Tam Tam, and will fill a niche for sophisticated, fashion-forward lingerie separates, said a Bendon spokeswoman.
The ad campaign was shot by Regan Cameron in black and white. The photos featured couples wearing the line's lingerie. We can't see the couple's faces, because it's all about the underwear. Bendon is the same company that makes Stella McCartney's lingerie line, so the quality should be quite good.
Elle Macpherson's labradoodle, Bella Macpherson, is the face of Dogside, a new fashion label for dogs. Dogside sells leashes, jackets, leads, coats, bowls and scarves. You can see more of Bella's photos here.
Mischa Barton's Meltdown Delays The Beautiful Life
The Hollywood Reportersays the start of CW's The Beautiful Life has been pushed back about a week - from July 22 to July 31 - because of Mischa Barton's recent meltdown.
And despite the widely publicized recent meltdown and hospitalization of co-star Mischa Barton, sources close to the show say the reason for the delay is far more mundane: Some of the sets for the show were not completed on time.
Still, given her medical issues, Barton's situation on the show remains unclear.
"Beautiful Life," executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, revolves around a group of models living together in a coed residence in New York. On the series, which is scheduled to premiere Sept. 16 behind "America's Next Top Model," the "O.C." alumna plays a supermodel and veteran of the high-fashion circuit who is struggling to keep on top and is in danger of slipping.
The Beautiful Life was produced by Ashton Kutcher, who probably isn't pleased with the show's delay. The show, which is about a modeling agency, also stars actress Sara Paxton (Aquamarine) and model Elle Macpherson. Designer Zac Posen also makes a guest appearance in the pilot. We'll be tuning in once the show finally starts.

Elle Macpherson graces the cover of Tatler's May 2009 issue. Elle is wearing a sparkling gold Versace mini dress. The awkward cover shot makes it look like Elle is about to sit down or that she is pulling on the dress. You can zoom in on the cover here on Tatler's website.
Reuters reports that Elle Macpherson will star in an upcoming CW show called Beautiful Life. Elle will be playing Claudia who owns a modeling agency named Focus Models. Mischa Barton (The OC) and Sara Paxton (Aquamarine ) are also part of the cast.
The project revolves around a group of male and female models living together in New York.
Macpherson will play Claudia, the owner of Focus Models, the top modeling agency in New York. She is an '80s supermodel who is still in great shape and runs her business with the efficiency and toughness of a dictator.
She joins Mischa Barton, Ben Hollingsworth, Sara Paxton, Ashley Madekwe and Nico Tortorella in the pilot.
Like her character, Macpherson was an '80s supermodel. In fact, along with Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Paulina Porizkova and Cindy Crawford, she became part of the first generation of supermodels.
