Ashley Greene Covers Maxim Magazine

Ashley Greene Maxim Magazine

Twilight star Ashley Greene covers the December issue of Maxim. In the interview, Ashley talks about landing the Twilight series role, learning to fight for Eclipse and the role she most covets next - Bond girl.

On landing the Twilight role: "Oh, my God, I wanted this part so badly! I worked my butt off for it because I absolutely love Alice, my character. she's sweet, sexy, and a killer! so when they told me I got it, I tried to play it all cool, you know, for about a minute."

On training for Eclipse: "I get to fight in Eclipse. My trainer is teaching me MMA right now. So. Cool. But I feel if I was in a real fight, I'd get my a- kicked...We're just now moving up to more advanced stuff, toward being able to actually kick somebody's a-."

On the role she'd like to get: "I want to hit up James Bond. That would be awesome."

Summit Entertainment vs. Rachelle Lefevre

Photo of Rachelle Lefevre

The Twilight fans are up in arms over Summit Entertainment's summary firing of Rachelle Lefevre from the third Twilight movie, Eclipse. Summit said it was a scheduling conflict. Then Rachelle issued her own statement saying that she was totally shocked by the firing and that she didn't really have a conflict, that she was doing a small indie film which only had ten days' overlap in the shooting schedule, which should have been fine with Summit.

Then Summit issued this statement, basically calling Rachelle a big liar:

We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre's recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

* Ms. Lefevre’s representatives were advised as early as April that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was expected to start shooting in early August.

* If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes "passionate," about being part of The Twilight Saga, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

* It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre's commitment to Barney's Version, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.

* Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.

* Contrary to Ms. Lefevre's statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.

The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre's commitment to the other project -- which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment -- makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

Ouch. But there's more. According to E!, the parties have both agreed to stop issuing inflammatory statements to the press. Now the lawyers are handling it. Rachelle's lawyers say her contract allows her to do other films even if they overlap. And they want Rachelle to be paid, because she's not the one in breach of her contract.

Marc Malkin at E! says that the entire cast has been ordered not to talk about the Rachelle firing situation. But luckily for fans, that Twilight ship is as leaky as a sieve.

Bryce Dallas Howard Replacing Rachelle Lefevre in 3rd Twilight Film

Victoria Twilight

There will be an actress switch in the third movie in the Twilight series. In Eclipse, Bryce Dallas Howard will replace Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria.
In the third installment of Summit's "Twilight" franchise, Rachelle Lefevre, who was to play the role of villain Victoria, will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard when shooting begins in Vancouver on August 17.

Lefevre played the role in the first picture, "Twilight," and in the upcoming "New Moon."

The studio attributed the move to scheduling conflicts. Lefevre recently was cast in the indie drama "Barney's Version" opposite Dustin Hoffman, which also has an August 17 start date, only several thousand kilometers east, in Quebec.
There has already been some negative reaction to the switch from Twilight fans on Twitter.

Eclipse Will Be Third Film in Twilight Series

Eclipse CoverAccess Hollywood reports that the third Twilight movie has been confirmed. It will be called Eclipse, which is the same name as Stephenie Meyer's novel. Eclipse will be out in theatres on June 30, 2010. Access Hollywood also says the series is now officially being called The Twilight Saga, which is also what the book series is called.
The third film in the series, "Eclipse," will arrive on June 30, 2010, Summit Entertainment confirmed to Access Hollywood. Sequel "New Moon" is due November 20 of this year.

Moreover, the series now has a name; based on the beloved novels of author Stephenie Meyer, the series has been officially named "The Twilight Saga."

Chris Weitz will helm "New Moon," which will see stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner reprise their roles. Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who penned "Twilight," will adapt both "New Moon" and "Eclipse."
Twilight fans won't have to worry now whether or not there will be a third film. Confirmation of a third film also explains why there is so much Twilight merchandise coming out. (via The Envelope)
