Lego has a number of electronics and other products coming out. Pictured above is the Lego Clock Radio. It is a cute blue clock radio in the shape of a Lego brick. Unfortunately, we have to agree with Oh Gizmo that it disappoints because there is no way to attach Legos to the clock radio. You can see a product listing here.
Some of the other items - the sunglasses, MPS Player and digital camera - provide places to attach Legos to them. They should have done the same thing with the clock radio.
New Kids Digital Camera Provides Built-in Morphing
Digital Blue is releasing a new camera called the the U-Turn Digital Camera that offers zany built-in fun-house effects including photo morphing.
Take a photo booth from an arcade, and cross it with mirrors from a fun house. Now make it fit in your hand. That's the U-Turn Digital Camera. Its big 2.4" LCD view screen swivels from back to front so kids can see themselves mugging the camera while arm-in-arm with their BFFs. Then with the push of a button they can instantly "morph" their image with hilarious fun-house effects like stretchy head, swirls, and squatty view. The U-Turn also works like a regular digital camera, letting users shoot and store up to 80 photos at a time. Only Digital Blue's U-Turn Digital Camera lets kids "punk their pictures" with 12 morphs at the touch of a button.
Morphing can easily be done with most graphics software packages but kids might get a kick out of a camera that offers morphing technology. The camera will be out this spring and will retail for $49.99. (via OhGizmo)
Update 11-17-09: Here's a video showing how the camera works.
Digital Blue and Lego have teamed up to launch Lego electronics including a Lego camera, Lego walkie-talkies, Lego MPS Players and other gadgets. The Lego gadgets will look like they are made out of Legos like in the photographs above but kids will not be able to take the gadgets apart, which is probably a good thing. The line is expected to launch this summer. Prices will range from $19.99 to $59.99. Digital Blue produces other lines of kids electronics like Batman Boomboxes and Disney digital cameras.
