Carrie Underwood Ponders the Sociopolitical Ramifications of Pants on the Ground

Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah were at a press conference when a reporter threw Carrie a curveball. He started the question in a very serious manner, asking her to comment on the political and social ramifications of ... (at this point Carrie is tensing up clearly wondering "is it an abortion question? A gay marriage question? What is it??")...the song "Pants on the Ground." It's too funny. Queen Latifah chimes in at the end of Carrie's very serious response. Take a look:

First Look at Carrie Underwood on How I Met Your Mother

Photo of Carrie Underwood

E! has this first look at Carrie Underwood's guest stint on How I Met Your Mother. Jennifer Godwin at E! says that the still appears to be from an episode spoofing Mad Men and that Neil Patrick Harris will play Don Draper.

Carrie blogged this about the gig: "I got to hang out with the whole cast, dress up like a flight attendant, play a cavewoman and had a baby pig poop on me...that's right...jealous?... I'm just glad I grew up on a farm because I think I was the only one who knew how to hold and wasn't afraid of a little piglet!"

We don't see how that fits in with a Mad Men theme at all. Don Draper does hold piglets. Unless of course she stars in several fantasy scenes. That could work.

Responding to questions, he said he popped the question to Underwood on Sunday, but declined to offer any other details at this point.

"It's true," said Fisher. "We're both obviously excited and very happy." Senators teammate Chris Neil said Fisher called him not long after popping the question. "I think it's great. It's a long time coming. There's going to be a lot of broken hearts in Ottawa with all those girls who are in love with Mikey," said Neil.

Underwood's publicity agent Jessie Schmidt also confirmed the engagement. She said no date has been set for the wedding, and also could not provide any further details.

The blogosphere had been alive and buzzing since Sunday with rumours the celebrity couple had become engaged. The rumours began spreading after a friend of Underwood's family congratulated the former American Idol and the Senators centre on their upcoming marriage on his Twitter page last night.
