Brian Williams (aka Brilliams) helped Jimmy Fallon and The Roots slow jam the news on Friday. The slow jam made hearing the news about the enormous 3.8 trillion budget a little less painful. The slow jam also covered the Bush administration's profligacy, the deficit, wars and NASA. Take a look:
Matt Lauer's Colleagues Tease Him Over Deer Accident
Matt Lauer is recovering from shoulder surgery after a bicycle accident with a deer. Now that he's ok and back at work on The Today Show, his co-workers and competitors had to poke a bit of fun at him. In this clip rival Good Morning America sent over a "Matt Crossing" sign and urged him to take a few months off to recover. Then Brian Williams of NBC gave a nice soliloquy about Matt's injury when he gets interrupted. Take a look:
Katie Stam was crowned Miss America just a few days ago. She attends the University of Indianapolis where she is majoring in communications. Willie Geist and Mika Brzezinski invited her to to the studio where she could fulfill her dream of becoming a news anchor and receive some tips and traning. Katie did pretty well during her debut but it's hard to take her seriously while she is wearing the Miss America crown. She was most excited to meet Brian Williams who surprised her with a visit to the set. Take a look:
Brian Williams talked music with Yo-Yo Ma recently on NBC. One of the question's Brian Williams asked Yo-Yo Ma is what music he has on his iPod. Yo-Yo Ma first quickly answered Barack Obama. Then he said it's a real eclectic mix of music and artists both old and new. He also says he changes it frequently as he receives recommendations. He did mention two artists specifically: James Taylor and Diane Krall. Yo-Yo Ma should start a website listing what is currently on his iPod - it would be quite popular. Another video clip from the interview can be found here and in this clip Brian Williams plays the cello with help from Yo-Yo Ma.
