BMW is coming out with the BMW M Bike. The bike includes disc brakes, a matt anthracite frame and built-in Shimano SLX gear system. The bike's saddle is made from high quality leather with a red inlay. BMW M Bikes will go on sale in June, 2010 at select BMW dealers and online at shop.bmwgroup.com. Several other bikes designed by BMW are already being sold here in BMW's online store.
The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journalreports that some Best Buy stores are going to start selling Brammo bikes. Brammo's $12,000 Enertia model will be the first Brammo bike to go on sale. It's a plug-in electric that has a range of 45 miles.
The Richfield retailer is embracing the e-bike concept, preparing to begin selling next month an electric motorcycle made by Brammo.
Powered bicycles made by Currie Technologies and Ultra Motors also are planned, according to a report in Bicycle Retailer and Industry News.
The Brammo bikes - which resemble a small motorcycle and can reach speeds of 50 mph - will go on sale July 6 at a Best Buy location in Portland, Ore., as part of a test-marketing effort, said John Farris, a spokesman for Brammo. Further West Coast Best Buy locations will follow.

MonkeyLectric Provides Customizable LED Bike Light
The MonkeyLectric light is a bike light that features 32 bright full color LEDs available and visual effects. MonkeyLectric says the light can be easily mounted on the spokes of nearly any bike. It also says the effects are customizable - there are on-board buttons that let you choose the colors and patterns. It looks plentry bright enough to get bikers noticed at night. The retail price is $64.99.
A press release from Mercedes-Benz discusses the company's new foldable bike. The foldingbike takes only a few seconds to fold up after riding according the press release.
"In addition to the Mountainbike and the racing bike, which are limited editions to a particularly high technical standard, the Foldingbike impresses with its unique fold-down technology. Mercedes-Benz has also carefully updated its tried-and-tested bike models, with several detailed improvements. This means that for its bike collection, Mercedes-Benz offers the same outstanding level of quality as for its premium automobiles," Daimler informs.
The Foldingbike is a real gem in technical terms. It features a patented folding mechanism that impresses by being particularly easy to operate. Folding and unfolding the bike takes only a few seconds, and no tools are required.
When the big is completely folded it can easily be placed in the boot of your BMW.
When completely folded down, the Mercedes-Benz Foldingbike requires very little space indeed. In this position it only measures 80x80x35 cm, enabling it to be stowed in the high-quality carrying bag which is also supplied. Accordingly the bike can be easily accommodated in the car boot, camper van, office or yacht as a constant companion.
The new Mercedes-Benz Foldingbike is available in silver or white, and costs 1699 Euro - about $2,400 U.S.
Lance Armstrong stolen bike worth $10,000 has been recovered by police. Lance Armstrong had tweeted the bike had been stolen earlier this week. The Sacramento police say a local resident (who is not a suspect) brought the the custom made bike into police headquarters earlier today. The police say the bike appears to be in good condition but Lance Armstrong's team will have to examine the bike to make sure. Take a look:

Lance Armstong says it is the only bike like it in the world which should make it more difficult for thieves to pawn it off. By sharing the photograph of the bike he's also made it possible for someone to recognize it if turns up on eBay or another online auction website.
Matthew Modine recently road his bike around Manhattan promoting the benefits of bicycling. Modine is passionate about bike riding which he says is green, healthy and fun. Modine suggests saying "Ride Baby Ride" instead of the "Drill Baby Drill" slogan being used to promote offshore drilling. Is it just us or does Matthew Modine still look pretty much the same as he did twenty years ago in Gross Anatomy? Maybe it is all the bike riding.
