Jeweled Ballet Flats for Evening

We just love these charming Elie Tahari Lucille suede ballet flats. We're always looking for fabulous evening shoes that have flat heels. It's easy to find lots of high-heeled party shoes, but sometimes we want to wear flats and pants, but still have dressy look. These are perfect.
Made of suede, they will be easy on feet hit hard by holiday shopping. They feature a jeweled brooch on the toe, which is just fabulous. They come in Royal (a dark purple, pictured above, Black and Acorn (a rich brown). Needless to say avoid suede shoes on evenings where rain or snow is expected. Or wear rain gear and change into these when you get inside the party.
These retail for $299 at
Zappos.com.

Lace Ballet Flats For Fall
Ballerina flats are very hot for fall; they make a nice alternative to all the sky-high chunky heels on those days when you just can't deal with heels. On the left are Manolo Blahnick's ivory satin ballet flats with black lace overlay. They feature a flat, stacked heel and retail for $515 at
Bergdorf Goodman.
If you love the look but lovely shoes from Italy just aren't in the budget this fall, you can always go to
Forever21.com
and pick up the cheap version for under $20. Cheap shoes are hard on your feet, so here's our favorite trick for making cheap, throwaway shoes wearable. Buy the shoes a half size too big, then place a good, orthotic footbed with a nice arch support inside. Dr. Scholl's makes great footbeds and they're available at Target and your local drugstore.

Christian LaCroix's Jeweled Flats For Fourth of July
It's never too early to start thinking about a killer outfit for Fourth of July and when we saw these brilliant red, white, and blue, jeweled flats from Christian LaCroix, we knew that we had to have them immediately. The elastic back keeps them from slipping off during an energetic dance move and the square toe looks fresh and fun. A grosgrain bow and a gorgeous jewelled ornament complete the look.
Now, Monsiuer LaCroix is, of course, French, so he may have had the tricolor flag of France in mind when he designed them, but what does it matter? Whether you're in L.A., New York or Atlanta celebrating the fourth of July at a fun party, or in Paris on July 14th celebrating Bastille Day, these are the flats to wear. Preferably with some darling shorts if your event is casual, or a wonderful miniskirt if your evening party includes going out to dinner or dancing the night away. These are too fabulous to risk at the beach, even if you're in the South of France, so keep these off of the sand.
These scrumptious ballet flats are available at Zappos.com for just under $500.
