Store Mannequins Might Be Spying on You

Store mannequins may be spying on you. The mannequins, called EyeSee, are made by an Italian company named Almax. The EyeSee mannequins contain built-in cameras to watch shoppers and see what they buy. The mannequins also contain facial recognition software so they can remember you.

A press release from Almax says the mannequins can help identify demographics attracted to store windows, including age, gender and race. ABC News explains how the mannequins work.

Max Catanese, the CEO of Almax, told ABC News, "The EyeSee can tell if a shopper is male or female, his or her age range, how much time you spent looking at it and its outfit."

The EyeSee mannequins are not cheap. They cost retailers $5,000 each, but you can expect the price to drop as more retailers purchase mannequins that can watch you shop. Take a look:
