Starbucks Launches Fizzio Sodas and Shaken Iced Teas

Posted on June 24, 2014

Starbucks is introducing two new types of beverages this summer. They include Fizzio sodas and Teavana Shaken Iced Teas. The sodas are available in three flavors: Spiced Root Beer, Golden Ginger Ale and Lemon Ale.

Starbucks says the Fizzio beverages are made without high fructose corn syrup, preservatives and artificial flavors. The sodas have less than 100 calories in a Grande size drink (16 fl. oz.).

The sodas are made with the Fizzio machine seen in the video below. The company describes the machine as a "breakthrough in carbonation technology with the ability to deliver an unmatched soda experience." Starbucks says the machines can deliver a customizable amount of "fizz" with each beverage. Customers can add extra fizz for $.50.

The Teavana Shaken Iced Teas are slightly sweetened teas available in three flavors: Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade, Peach Green Tea Lemonade and Black Tea Lemonade. The Blackberry Mojito flavor is pictured below. Starbucks says the tea drinks are vigorously hand shaken ten times. Starbucks has also added some new food items including a Turkey Pesto Panini, salad bowls, and bistro boxes.
