Sotheby's to Auction Beau Sancy on May 15

The Beau Sancy

Sotheby's will auction The Beau Sancy on May 15th. The famous modified double rose cut diamond weighs 34.98 carats. It has been passed down through the Royal Families of France, England, Prussia and the House of Orange over the past 400 years. The diamond has an estimated value of $2 to $4 million. The diamond is thought to have most likely originated from the mines in south central India near the city of Golconda, the source of history's best-known diamonds, including the Hope, the Koh-i-Noor and the Regent.
