Sony to Close 20 Sony Stores

Sony Electronics has announced plans to close 20 U.S. Sony Stores as part of a restructuring plan annonced by Sony earlier this month. Sony Electronics also plans to reduce total staff by about 1,000 employees. Eleven Sony Stores will remain after the 20 stores close.

Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics, said in a statement, "While these moves were extremely tough, they were absolutely necessary to position us in the best possible place for future growth. I am entirely confident in our ability to turn the business around, in achieving our preferred future, and continue building on our flawless commitment to customer loyalty through the complete entertainment experience only Sony can offer."

  • Century City, CA
  • Valley Fair, CA

  • Central Valley, N.Y. (Woodbury Common Outlets)
