Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Gear smartwatch today at IFA in Berlin. The watch has a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED (320 x 320) display. It also has 1.9-megapixel camera that can record HD video. The watch has an 800 Mhz processor, 4GB of memory and 512 MB of RAM.
Galaxy Gear will work as a companion device to the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1. It has a built-in speaker that lets users to conduct hands-free calls directly from the Gear. Samsung says "a user leaving the grocery store, whose hands are full with shopping bags, could still make a call by speaking into the Galaxy Gear without touching the screen." Samsung says users can also draft messages, create new calendar entries, set alarms, and check the weather with S Voice.
that the device will launch with 70 apps. These include fitness trackers, travel organizers, shopping on eBay, Evernote and more. The watch comes pre-loaded with 10 clock options and more options are available through apps.
The Verge reports
