Cuban cigar makers celebrate
increased sales, despite the worldwide recession.
Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz,
Cuba's Trade Minister,
says things are doing quite
well. Says are up almost 10%
due to rebounding markets in Asia
and the Middle East. The cigar
makers are quite annoyed by
rampant counterfeiting of their
product, ad are introducing high
tech labels with features such
as holograms to show that the
cigars are authentically Cuban.
Despite public smoking bans
being implemented across the globe,
production of hand rolled
cigars from Cuba where they make
cigars the same way they have been
for generations.
