The
Hollywood Reporter says Rooney Mara had taken the lead in a film adaption of Colm Toibin's bestselling novel,
Brooklyn. Rooney will play Ellis Lacey, an Irish immigrant, in the romantic drama set in 1950s. Ellis is torn between her family in Ireland and an American she falls in love with in New York City. Nick Horny has been selected as the screenwriter. Rooney is the only star attached to the project so far according to the
