Residents of Casselton, North Dakota Evacuate After Train Carrying Crude Oil Explodes

Residents of Casselton, a small North Dakota town, are being evacuated following the derailment of a train. The town is home to 2,400 people. A train carrying soybeans derailed and then a train carrying crude oil collided with the soybean train and exploded outside the town. Reuters reports that 21 rail cars are burning and more cars could potentially catch on fire. Dangerous black smoke then headed toward the town. There have been many concerns about crude oil trains following the deadly Lac-Megantic derailment in Canada earlier this year that killed at least 42 people. There are reportedly no injuries in the Casselton accident. Take a look:
