Queen Elizabeth Gives Christmas Address, Discusses Prince George
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II gave her traditional
Christmas Day speech. This year the theme of her
speech was striving for a balance between
action and quiet reflection. The Queen reflected on
the day of her coronation and what things have
changed and what has stayed the same since that day
sixty years ago.
She showed some interesting clips during the speech:
of her as very young woman becoming Queen and even
some behind the scenes clips of Prince George's
christening. We see the royal family
sitting for a family portrait as the Duchess
of Cambridge coaxes little George to smile for the
camera by bouncing him on her lap.
For the first time she discussed
her son Prince Charles, who has been appearing for
his mother more often. The Queen, who is the formal
head of the Church of England, also touched on
Christian duty and wished everyone a Happy Christmas.
