Pippa Middleton has been signed as a new columnist for
Waitrose Kitchen, a magazine from
Waitrose, a British supermarket. The column will be called "Pippa's Friday Night Feast." Waitrose says the column will feature casual dining ideas and recipes.
Pippa said in a statement, "I'm delighted to be writing for Waitrose Kitchen, a magazine that's always been a source of inspiration to me, for its extensive spectrum of food and beautiful style. My column, 'Pippa's Friday Night Feasts' will be an exciting opportunity to share my own passion and enthusiasm for food and entertaining and I can't wait to get started."
The column is the first food and entertainment work for Pippa since her book,
Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends. Sales were lower than expected for Pippa's book, due in part to the fact that her book tour was canceled.
Not everyone is excited about Pippa writing for the magazine. The
Guardian reports that Guy Woodward, the editor of
Food and Travel magazine,
tweeted, "Pippa Middleton column for Waitrose mag is so off-key for brand priding itself on authenticity – and real kick in the teeth for food writers."
