Parrot Unveils New Bebop Drone

Parrot has unveiled its new Bebop Drone. The red and black quadricopter features a full HD camera. The light-weight drone weighs less than 400 grams. It has a return home function that will automatically bring it back to its take-off point. It contains an accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. The drone generates its own Wi-Fi hotspot. You can also use virtual reality goggles to see from the Bebop's point of view. Bebop runs on a Lithium polymer battery. It can be controlled on a smartphone or tablet using the app. A Parrot Skycontroller dock is available for as an option to control the drone with 2 joysticks. Take a look:
Parrot has not yet announced a release date or pricing, but the company the new drone will be available soon. Here is a review of the drone from CNET Senior Editor Donald Bell. Bell mentions some safety features, such as auto detection to stop the propellers if your finger is touching one of them. It also has bumpers that can be attached on the sides if you are flying the drone inside your home. Take a look:
