Ozobot Introduces Robotic Game Piece at CES and 2014 Toy Fair

Ozobot

Ozobot introduced its robotic game piece, called Ozobot, at CES and the 2014 Toy Fair. The tiny robot is about 1 inch in diameter. Ozobot can recognize over 1,000 different instructions. It can read and follow lines and light colors on game boards and on digital smartphone and tablet screens. Ozobot has developed several mobile games for the Ozobot, including games involving mazes and a racing app.

Nader Hamda, ceo of Ozobot says, "For over 18 months, we've been developing a robotic game piece that can utilize all the best elements of traditional board games and mobile app games to create a brand new experience. While we're confident the launch titles are fun and show off the potential of Ozobot, we're also hard at work developing more games and providing interested third parties a way to develop new physical and digital games and apps using Ozobot."

Ozobot is currently listed on Kickstarter, where it has 512 backers and has raised over $63,000 toward its goal of $100,000. The Verge reports that Ozobot will go on sale in June and cost around $60. Take a look:
