The Artist star Missi Pyle walked the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars.
Missi wore an eco-friendly aqua gown by Miami designer Valentino Delfino made of Peace Silk, which is also known as Cruelty-Free Silk. The silk chiffon was dyed with a natural mineral dye, which is both environmentally friendly and OSHA approved. Cruelty–Free Silk is created through a process that permits the full life cycle of the pupae. The silkworm is able to emerge naturally
and only then the cocoons are unwound. Traditional silk is made in a way that kills the silk worms. Delfino won an eco design contest sponsored by James Cameron's wife, Suzi Amis.
The gown contains repurposed zippers and a lining made from recycled polyester. The dress features an asymmetrical off the shoulder sleeve and elaborate draping. Missi accessorized with some fabulous diamond earrings, a diamond necklace and a diamond brooch from Chopard. Her clutch bag was by Swarovski.
