Miss Alabama Katherine Webb in Spotlight Following Brent Musburger's Comments

Miss Alabama USA 2012 Katherine Webb is one of the top searches on the Internet following comments by announcer Brent Musberger during Monday night's football game. Katherine is the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron. She gained over 100,000 Twitter followers after Musberger's comments. Her Twitter account is @_KatherineWebb.

Musberger first called her a "lovely woman," but he didn't stop there. Musberger added, "You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman. Whoa!"

Musberger also said, "If you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pop."

CNN reports that Webb is defending Musberger and says people are being unfair about his comments.

ESPN issued the following apology: "We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that."
