Microsoft Opens First Flagship Store in New York City

Posted on October 26, 2015

Microsoft has opened its first flagship store in New York City. The Fifth Avenue store is the first Microsoft store to extend two stories. It is also the largest Microsoft store at 22,269 square feet.

The store features Microsoft latest gadgets and software. It features the new Surface Book and tablets as well as Lumia, Xbox One and Microsoft Band devices. The store is the only Microsoft store to showcase the Microsoft Surface Hub.

Kelly Soligon, general manager, Worldwide Marketing, Microsoft Retail and Online Stores, says in a statement, "The larger footprint means a deeper customer experience of Microsoft's ecosystem in what we consider to be one of the greatest shopping districts in the world. It really is an awesome canvas to be able to highlight products and have them come to life for customers."

The store also features Microsoft's biggest Answer Desk and two community theaters. There is also a culture wall that is 40 feet wide by 20 feet high. The store will be hosting an event for fans awaiting the launch of Halo 5: Guardians. Microsoft is donating more than $3 million in software and technology grants to 14 New York organizations as part of the launch of the flagship.

Here is a tour of the interior of the store with Marketwatch's Jennifer Booton. Take a look:
