Marvel has announced the launch of a new S.H.I.E.L.D. product line. The line is inspired by its entertaining new hit show, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
. The pilot was seen by over 12 million people and was the biggest network drama debut in four years. The series, co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, stars Clark Gregg, Mina-Na Wen and Chloe Bennett.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. product line debuts with a small amount of products, including t-shirts, accessories and posters. The products will be sold on ABC.com, Marvel.com, Hot Topic and at specialty retailers. A S.H.I.E.L.D. t-shirt and mug are pictured.
Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel at Disney Consumer Products, said in a statement, "The breakout success of our new primetime ABC series further underscores the unmatched affinity that fans have for the Marvel brand. This new consumer products line will give fans a great jumping off point to enjoy the new series and to extend their passion for Agent Coulson and the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization."
