New Zealand singer Ella Yelich-O'Connor (Lorde) has topped
the Billboard 100 with her song, "Royals." The song is from her recently launched album, Pure Heroine
. Lorde, 16, is the youngest artist to top the chart since Tiffany in 1988. Lorde recently covered Billboard
calls her "The New Queen of Alternative." Lorde told Billboard
that her song hitting number one feels like "a combination of my birthday, Christmas and washing my hair after a month of not doing so."
Lorde performed "Royals" in Times Square on Good Morning America
