Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy discuss their new hit drama, The Following. Bacon plays an ex-FBI agent who must get his life back together to find a brutal serial killer (Purefoy) who has escaped from prison. The charismatic killer has the ability to motivate others to kill in his name. The Fox drama pulled in over 10 million people in its debut, and millions more watched on DVR the next three days. Critics don't like the extreme violence, but viewers didn't seem to mind. Bacon discusses how seeing how much his wife Kyra Sedgewick enjoyed working on the tv hit The Closer and the quality of the writing convinced him to do series television. Purefoy says his Edgar Allen Poe-quoting character is not very nice. That is an understatement.
