Author Kathy Freston talked to Extra about her new book, The Lean, which outlines a 30-day plan to improve your health and jump-start weight loss.
The idea is to make tiny, incremental changes instead of a big abrupt change all at once. Some of her quick tips include drinking two glasses of water before every main meal. She also says you need to start adding fiber, such as black beans. Kathy also says do these three things: add in two tablespoons of flaxseed per day, eat an apple a day and switch out your dairy milk for non-dairy milk, such as soy or almond.
She says, "If you think about it a cow gives milk to her little baby calf, so that that calf puts on a 1,000 pounds really quickly. So, we don't want to drink the milk from the cow to put on that kind of weight." Take a look:
