Skechers USA has announced that it will air a Super Bowl ad that will star Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott, both Hall of Famers from the 49ers. The ad will showcase the brand's Relaxed Fit footwear. Having prior football stars in the Super Bowl ads is a safe, smart move for Skechers as the stars will be immediately recognized by football fans.
Skechers president Michael Greenberg said in a statement, "Relaxed Fit gives guys the perfect combination in their footwear: incredibly comfortable shoes that look great in any setting. So we thought, let's give them what they want with football legends delivering some old-school physical comedy. Working with two of the greatest players of all time was amazing, and the fact that their former team will be playing in the Super Bowl this weekend makes it all the sweeter."
