Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling Talk Mystery Girls

Posted on July 11, 2014

Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling star in a new series on ABC Family called Mystery Girls. The series centers around two former stars of a TV detective show. Jennie plays Charlie Contour, who is now content with being a housewife and mom. Tori plays Holly Hamilton who wants to return to her former TV glory. The two become real detectives when a fan of the actresses and former TV show witnesses a crime. This fan will only share the details of the crime with the former stars. It's a clever premise. Three half-hour episodes of Mystery Girls have aired so far.

Jennie says her character is both "excited and disgusted" about being pulled back into her prior fame. She says the show is about "two women supporting each other, even though they are really different."

Tori says working with Jennie is "so amazing." She says it is like being with your friend and sister every day. She says the show has pop culture, mysteries and "cute boys."

The two stars also discussed Tori's hair. Jennie says Tori's hair always smells like a Barbie doll. Tori describes her own hair as "severely bleached."
