Jem and the Holograms to Become Live Action Movie

Jem and the Holograms, a 1980s Hasbro cartoon, is going to be made into a live action movie. Jason Blum, Scooter Braun and director Jon M. Chu have teamed up to make the film. Jason Blum is the CEO of Blumhouse Productions, which is best known for the aranormal Activity horror franchise. The project was announced with a video on YouTube. The Hollywood Reporter says Ryan Landels wrote the script. It could be a huge role for the girl who gets to play Gem. THR says the script is centered around Gem, "an orphaned teenage girl who becomes an online recording sensation."
